πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ THE (real) GARDEN GUY πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ

It was brought to our attention that someone locally has decided to name their gardening business "The Garden Guy".

Although this person knows that there is already a well established business using this name in the area (he contacted us a few months back looking for a job!) and despite the fact that we do not own any rights to this name, we feel it is a pretty low move. Hopefully it wasn't meant but we feel this could confuse our customers.

As we do not know how well this person works, we would like to make sure whatever is going on does not impact on the reputation of The Garden Guy - Inverclyde . We would really appreciate if you could share this post around πŸ™πŸ»

NO, we have not changed our logo.
NO, our phone number has not changed.
NO, our owner has not changed.
NOTHING IS CHANGING!

You can be assured that, by (continuing to) using us you will receive the same top service as before.

And we would like to wish this new company a lot of success πŸ‘πŸ»

πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ National Gardening Day πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ

2024 has not been kind to us so far. Very very wet and hardly a winter. It makes it difficult to go out and enjoy our gardens.

But soon spring days will be here and life will be back in our dull looking pieces of haven.

As a gardener, it is a difficult time to face and we can only hope that soon the sun will come back out (or at least that the rain will give us a proper break!).

But this extreme weather shouldn't put a halt to our love for gardening, that is so important for nature's wellbeing and our own! Soon, the sun will shine again! And meanwhile, we can always get a few seeds started indoors or get a couple of house plants to keep us rust free πŸ˜‰

Happy Gardening Day!

We can't wait to get the first round of grass cut underway but it's not sensible to do so just now as it would damage the lawn by compacting it and the grass would be more likely to be pulled/dislodged rather than sharply chopped. At The Garden Guy, we take pride in providing a quality professional service and sometimes it means having to delay things a bit until the time is right! Our job is to work with the seasons, not against them πŸ˜‰

Your patience and trust is appreciated πŸ™ We can't wait to see you all again soon.

Fantastic afternoon spent delivering this workshop on Sensory Gardening. It was a very interesting experience for The Garden Guy. Really enjoyed it so hopefully there will be more in the future πŸ€—

The participants have done a fantastic job at putting together this wonderful sensory friendly planter πŸ‘

Thank you Belville Community Garden for giving me the chance to talk (a bit too much 🫣) about this subject very dear to me and, hopefully , inspire a few folks to create their very own sensory friendly planter. And thank you Branchton Gardening Club for hosting this event today.

It was brought to my attention that Facebook Messenger is not notifying me of new messages and not updating as it should, meaning I have missed several messages over the past weeks πŸ˜•

If you do not hear back from me within a few days (I do have a bit of a backlog of messages πŸ™), please do send me a text message or, preferably, WhatsApp message.

When out and about, it is often difficult to answer phone calls or even take notes so calls are not usually answered. If this is your preferred method of communication, please leave a voicemail and I will return your call at the earliest convenience.

I believe I have now replied to all pending messages on Messenger so if you are still expecting a reply from me, please be in touch!

πŸ¦” Night time visitorπŸ¦”

After a long day getting my own garden into some sort of order (it was well overdue 🫣), I was enjoying the last rays of light when I spotted this wee chunky roaming around the garden.

As it was walking towards a road, I had to pick it up and get it towards the back where it's a wee woodland/green safe area.

Every other year or so, we release a couple of hedgehogs in the area but it's the first time in over a decade that I have one visiting my garden (or at least that I get to see).

Take care of your local wildlife, folks. They need us more than ever πŸ’ͺ If they disappear, then all our ecosystem and us will soon follow! Be responsible with your use of pesticides and weedkillers, be mindful of the timing for winter and spring garden clearing and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow space for the wildlife to thrive!
