Another milestone reached as LockFit Inverness recently received its 150th 5 star Google review.

Late night call out to Enterprise Car Hire after the member of staff on duty got locked IN the building.

After locking the door to customers at closing time their key snapped in the lock. 🙈

We were on site within 20 minutes of the call, broken key removed and the very relieved staff member was able to go home and not face the prospect of spending the night in the office!

Sometimes finding parts isn't as straightforward as it seems.

When we went to do what was initially a simple lock change as the new owners didnt have a key for their sliding door, it soon turned into a bit more 😄.

It turned out the gearbox mechanism on the aluminium sliding door had broken as well. With the door itself being about 40 years old it was never going to be easy to find the right replacement.

After a good few hours trawling the internet it became clear the part was unavailable in the UK. We did, however, manage to track one down....in Belgium!!

We finally managed to get the new part fitted today so the door can now be locked and secured. Hopefully the new gearbox will last as long as the last one!!

Helping out an elderly customer in Inverness who'd shut their bedroom door to go for a shower then couldn't get back in again!

Luckily we were nearby when they called so a quick diversion to get the door open within 10 minutes of the original phone call.

Broken door latch replaced along with a new set of handles as one had broken off.

When one door opens, there's sometimes an added surprise.

That was the scenario today when we were called to gain entry to a property in Inverness.

After getting the mortice lock open on the front door you think "job done". So when the door opened and we were greeted with an internal door with another mortice lock which was also locked, you begin to think someone is having a laugh at your expense 😂.

But we get the job done. Both locks opened with no damage to the doors, new locks fitted and keys issued.

It's what we do.

Busy day in all 4 seasons including getting caught in a hailstorm!! Good old Scottish summertime.....

New Yale rim cylinder fitted at a tenanted property near Inverness city centre.

3* euro cylinder opened and replaced after all keys were lost.

Faulty shootbolt replaced on a set of French doors.

Camper van door opened after the owner lost the keys over winter.

Saturday trip to Dornoch to replace a broken set of door handles.

New full uPVC multipoint locking system replaced for a customer in the Ness Castle area of Inverness as the old one had given up the ghost.

Next, a worn gearbox unit replaced for a customer in Kinmylies before the property changes hands.

Then a call to open a stuck set of French doors. Problem was a faulty shootbolt which was stuck in the frame. We got it free and removed the old one so the doors can be used normally until the replacement part arrives. Thr customer was also requiring them open to accept a sofa delivery so now it can all go ahead hassle free!!
