Summer is in full swing and over the last few days our chainsaw protective trousers just get heavier and heavier in this heat! We have been carrying out all sorts of tree and fencing work over the past little while practicing due diligence with it being nesting season not to disturb the hatchlings and mums. We had a lovely few days at Glaickmore on the Black Isle with beautiful weather. Thanks to Highland Grain for having us and the HBS ring for putting up with the chipper. Remember folks, always wear sun screen and don’t look down AND at this time of year, always check for nests!!

Good Evening folks. It looks like we are going to be experiencing a fair breeze. If anyone has any tree issues or emergencies during the night and tomorrow please do get in touch at anytime. We have plenty of experience with wind blown and storm damaged trees.

Job just completed felling a stand of Sitka spruce along the boundary of a property. It has made a huge difference to the light in the property. The poplar trees that have struggled with shade will now be reduced and shaped to encourage better growth into their new space.

Before and after. A customer asked us to remove some trees and prune the remaining trees,and tidy a garden of a property she rented. Unfortunately the occupants where unable to manage the garden and over years it went wild. There where some beautiful specimens hiding in the grass and self seeded sycamore saplings.

Hope you all had a good weekend in the sunshine. Had a lovely pint on Friday at our local The Anderson. Less tree work at the moment due to nesting season but we have been doing a bit of landscaping and garden fencing instead. Have a great week and enjoy the sun! We have just taken delivery of a new (to us) tracked chipper. This chipper is self propelled and can track over most terrain and inclines making it an all -access machine and chips very efficiently. If you have anything that needs chipped, the Green Beaver will do it.....dam quick!!

Selectively thinning trees in Cromarty. The trees had been planted in a garden 20 years ago and had, funnily enough, grown! They had become crowded and took all the light from the back of the house. We retained the trees in best condition and dismantled selected trees. Timber was kept for firewood by the customer and all the waste was chipped and removed. Hooray!
