This iron burn looked like it was destined for the scrap heap, but instead of cutting holes, fitting patches, or replacing the carpet, I used specialist repair techniques to remove the damage and save the original carpet.

Yesterday I attended an Airbnb property in Staines after the previous guests had accidentally left a nasty iron burn in the bedroom carpet.
The owner was understandably worried. Not only was there a large burn mark staring them in the face, but the room needed to be ready for the next guests. Replacing the carpet would have meant additional expense, disruption and potentially lost income.
Fortunately, that's where carpet repair comes in.
In around 40 minutes, the damaged area had been professionally repaired and the room was ready to go again.
It's amazing how many people assume that a damaged carpet automatically needs replacing. In reality, many burns, holes, tears and pet-damaged areas can be successfully repaired for a fraction of the cost of replacement.

🐾 When your cat attacks… who are you gonna call? 🐾

Today’s repair was a little different!

I don’t think I’ve ever walked into a house with so many cat toys, cat beds, cat trees and cat gadgets. It was clear this customer’s furry friend is very much part of the family. 😸

Unfortunately, their beloved cat had decided that the carpet threshold was the perfect place to sharpen its claws and had completely shredded the corner of the carpet.

The damage was getting worse and the customer wanted to avoid replacing the carpet if possible.

Using specialist carpet repair techniques, I was able to rebuild the damaged corner, secure the area and get everything looking tidy again.

Another carpet saved.
Another happy customer.
And one very naughty cat! 😂

Another carpet saved today 👌
This one was over near Tower Bridge in London and, honestly, when the pictures first came through, I could completely understand why the customer thought they were going to need a new carpet.
This wasn't a little scorch mark or a surface burn.
The iron had burnt all the way through the carpet. There was literally no carpet left in the damaged area. The fibres had completely melted away and the backing had been destroyed.
Most people would look at that and assume replacement was the only option.
Thankfully, that's what we specialise in.
After assessing the damage, we carried out a specialist patch repair using matching donor carpet and carefully worked the repair into the surrounding area to achieve the best possible finish.
The customer's reaction at the end made the whole trip worthwhile. They genuinely thought they were facing the expense and hassle of replacing the carpet, so to see it repaired and looking a million times better was a huge relief for them.
One thing I always say is don't assume your carpet needs replacing just because it's been burnt. Every carpet and every burn is different. Some can be repaired, some can't, but it's always worth getting specialist advice before spending thousands on replacement.

🚨 OVER 20 bits of damage… caused by HOUSE RABBITS! 🐰😳

Yes… house rabbits.

This client thought they were cute little fluffy pets… until they turned into tiny demolition experts 🤦‍♂️

Chewed carpets ✅

Absolute chaos ✅

The customer called us in to save the day before the rabbits became… rabbit stew 🍲😂

Cat vs loop pile carpet… 🐈⬛💥

And this one was BAD.

The customer thought the carpet was finished after their cat completely unravelled the doorway area 😳

Loop pile carpets are one of the hardest carpets to repair once they start pulling and running, which is why so many people get told they need replacement.

But not this time.

Today’s job was a burn like I don’t see very often — nearly a metre square 😳
