Ed's Undiscovered Scotland

Ed's Undiscovered Scotland Showing you a secret side to the Highlands and Islands, where the tourist guides will never take you!

The Highlands and Islands are blessed with a great variety of spectacular landscapes, from brooding snow-capped peaks, to glittering white sand beaches, to shimmering blue lochs and rich emerald pine forests. Idyllic villages, or even the eerie remnants of previous settlement, complement these stunning scenes. It is often possible to take in all four of these elements in the one scene! For this re

ason, so many corners of the Highlands have become famous in tourist guides over the centuries. However, as a testament to the vast scale of these wild landscapes, there remain numerous spots which retain the same air of mystery and secrecy that Bonnie Prince Charlie must have experienced during his retreat from Culloden hundreds of years ago. This page aims to showcase these wild and unexplored beauty spots, giving an impression of their idyllic tranquility, and of the sense of adventure in reaching them, hopefully encouraging you all to explore for yourselves at some point!

A feast of scenery to be enjoyed from Scotland's less travelled roads.
