📣Nominate your favourite Leeds building constructed in the last 60 years for the Leeds Architecture Awards People's Choice Award'

🏰To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Leeds Civic Trust, we're inviting the public to nominate buildings they admire most for special prize at the 2025 Leeds Architecture Awards.

🌇 Whether it’s a well-known landmark, a hidden gem, or a place with personal meaning, as long as it was built in Leeds within the last 60 years, it’s eligible!

🏯 What buildings have inspired you, brought you joy, or made you proud of Leeds? This is your chance to help create a public shortlist that celebrates architecture in the last 60 years!

📣APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENSION - 16 JUNE

Recognising that people have been occupied with UKREiif and the half-term holidays, The Leeds Architecture Awards Steering Group has agreed to extend the deadline for entries to midnight on 16th June.

This is a very successful combination of new and old, uniting pre-existing post-war structures with a substantial contemporary insertion. There was a confidence, rigour and even muscularity to the development as a whole. Clever design decisions mean that the bulk of the new build is largely disguised.

Applications for the 2025 Leeds Architecture Awards open on Friday! Let's take a look at some of the winners from 2023...

🏆Adapted Buildings Winner 2023 - Opera North Works. Architect: Enjoy Design

This is a great adaptation of two buildings with very different pedigrees. The mid century building providing administrative and rehearsal space for Opera North now has high quality spaces which are fit for purpose. The public part of the scheme provides a sequential journey from the box office to the assembly room. The atrium space is bold and the fittings carefully conceived.

📅 Entries to the Leeds Architecture Awards 2025 open on Thursday 1 May and close on Saturday 31 May.

There will be two rounds of judging and site visits.

📅The award ceremony will be held on 6 November at Howard Assembly Rooms.

Our 2023 competition saw 57 submissions to 5 award categories. We'll be announcing key dates for this year's competition in the coming weeks on our social media.
