New toy day! A little pre Christmas gift to myself. It’s my first day using my new Sthil HTA86 Cordless Telescopic Pole Saw. My first battery powered bit of maintenance kit and so far I’m really impressed. Had the saw on and off for a good couple of hours this morning and it’s still got a decent charge left in the battery ( I have two AP200 batteries). Hopefully this is their start of transitioning all my maintenance kit over to battery power. got a great deal from that included the two batteries and a charger.

Always worth a visit to great to see some of the great examples of winter colour, and to top it all off I came away with a free bottle of gin courtesy of their spin the wheel game.

Lovely way to spend an evening, replacing the impeller housing cover on the leaf vacuum after it ripped out all three bolts! Must be some tough leaves out there this year!!

Nice little turfing job this week. Started the prep work last October with strumming the site off (1m+ tall w**ds all over) and then coming back in March this year to spray off any regrowth. This week started with clearing the existing concrete shed base and path then removing as much of the dead w**d growth as possible before rotavating. We then imported 8 tons of screened topsoil to help lift the levels as the garden had a few low spots and we wanted to prevent any ponding during really wet periods. 120m2 of turf later and it’s all done.
