I didn’t see this coming…

I saw the ‘for sale sign’ and I bought a beautiful wedding dress shop, with the plan to turn it into my design studio.

A dream of owning a studio space, I had wanted to achieve since setting up this business 3 years ago.

However, I realised the space was just too big for me (I work by myself!).

I needed to do something with it, something that others could use, because it lent itself so well to that.

So The Studio at 490 was born, out of a love of creativity, helping others and excitement about seeing the possibilities the space could bring.

I have loved designing this creative space, thinking about all of its different uses and which creatives and brands could benefit from being there.

From lighting, colour scheme, material finishes, furniture, accessories - it’s been a labour of love. But I’m ready to share it now.

This doesn’t mean that I’m done with designing, I’ll forever be doing that.

I need a lie down 😮‍💨

The summer holiday juggle is real isn’t it?!

And in design world, lots of the European factories have an extended summer break. Not sure where mine went!
But we keep moving!

Two full design projects, one complete, one nearing completion.

And I decided to launch a new business in the middle of it all (what was I thinking?!) Creative Studio and Event Space | Leeds

An old commercial space transformed into a brand new boutique creative studio and event space.

Design brief//
Neutral, with texture.
Pops of colour, but not too much.
A space with recognisable personality.
A calm and productive environment.

New Project

This family living room was underused and not liked for its dark colour and cold feel. It felt cut-off from the rest of the home and the family didn’t enjoy being in there.

The brief//
Make this room into a warm, inviting, cosy and family-orientated living room, for all to use and enjoy.

Using a colour scheme of plaster pink & green, with blue and neutral accents with layered soft furnishings and natural material furniture to tie it all together, has really hit the brief for my client.
