Drummie-Bee Drummie-Bee is a textile business specialising in contemporary knitted products. I take my inspiration from my surroundings. I also finish all my pieces by hand.

I live in Shetland which is full of amazing scenery and landscapes as well as huge fishing and textile industries. I am particularly inspired by bold, bright colours spotted in everyday situations. Like a colourful fishing boat sitting in the harbour or eye-catching bright pink flowers in a sea of earthy grass. I enjoy working with geometric shapes and create my patterns by simplifying shapes and

objects from my inspiration. I create repetitive patterns with bold shapes and colours. All my items are knitted on a knitting machine by myself. I am using 100% Supersoft Scottish Lambswool as it is extremely cosy and comfortable to wear/hold. You may be wondering what my name means! Well... Drummie-Bee is the Shetland Dialect for Bumble Bee. I really liked Drummie-Bee when I first came across it and found it a very relevant name to my work due to my influences from Shetlands nature and surroundings.

‘Remembering Ruby’ is running from today until 14th March in Stromness and hosts a display of art work by my Granny and family with all proceeds going to the MS Society.
