Greening the Concrete

I tried out the simple filing cabinet trick in the garden last weekend and it worked pretty well! I picked up a couple of filing cabinets for free on Marketplace, and removed the shelves and flipped it on its side. It's important to create some drainage holes so banged some nail holes in the bottom before filling up with some old bricks we have left over from a job, and a load of garden waste (no need to spend a fortune filling up with expensive compost! Painted the cabinet with some Hammerite paint, and finally topped off with just a couple of bags of multi-purpose and then popped in some Ox Eye Daisies and grasses - yes I know the spider plant won't last the winter but it's doing OK at the moment! I'm looking forward to the nasturtiums popping out soon. Have you done a similar upcycling project?

A wonderful end to 2022 with a new commission for a very contemporary outside space. I was asked to come up with some ideas for an awkward terrace and roadside garden ...think 6 foot 🌵, outdoor cinema 📽️ and some fabulous neon lighting....can't wait to share the finished project with you in 2023!. I'm back! After a busy summer of weddings and events, it was so wonderful to be talking through garden designs with a new client this morning..Thinking curved terraces, cottage garden flowering, and modern art! Popped into the lovely Amici Pizzeria & Bar a couple of weeks ago and not only had a wonderful meal but also came up with some new ideas for their outside space!
