As late winter rolls in, it’s a great time to prune your deciduous ornamental grasses.
Take this Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Karl Foerster’, for instance—it’s kept its structure and autumn hues through winter, but now it’s ready for a trim. Snip last season’s growth down to about 12cm to make way for fresh sprouts.
This particular grass shines in groups or drifts, creating a stunning screen, but even a solo plant, like this budget-friendly one I planted last spring, adds dynamic movement and height to your garden.
