Sam undertook a significant refurbishment of my flat, including the removal of an internal wall, moving lots of plumbing and electrics, fitting a new kitchen, installing new damp proof coursing, and putting in a new ceiling.

Sam is absolutely fantastic, and I can't recommend him and his team highly enough.

The entire job has been completed to the highest quality; I cannot find fault with any element of it.

As well as being a great builder himself with tremendous attention to detail and an impressive knowledge of a wide range of areas, Sam is a brilliant project manager. He ensured the whole process ran seamlessly, to time, and to budget. He made the whole process as stress free as possible, and I realised early on that I could always rely on him to have everything under control.

Sam was also great at consulting with me when decisions needed to be made. He always asked for my input where necessary, but also was quick to point out practical considerations (which I had normally overlooked!) before we came to any decisions. When I had a question for him, he would always get back to me within an hour or two (often even if it was late at night!)

Where different options were on the table, Sam always took into account my budget, and laid out the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative approach so that I could make an informed decision.

Sam was very tolerant of my complete lack of any refurbishment experience, and answered all of my (often stupid!) questions very patiently.

Sam and his team worked incredibly hard, putting in long hours where necessary rather than taking any short cuts or leaving any areas anything less than perfect.

Sam is a very trustworthy individual. He was completely upfront in relation to all costs (time and materials) so there were no surprises, and when I asked for additional out of scope work to be done he would go away and produce an additional written quote before starting so that we both knew where we stood.

Once the job was complete, Sam and his team tidied up perfectly, leaving not a trace behind.

Even after the job was finished, Sam remained very proactive and involved in relation to awaiting the building control certificate from the Council. The Council were very slow to process this, but despite having moved on to new jobs, Sam continually chased them on my behalf. Since the job finished, he has also been back a couple of times to show me how to use things which I haven't known how to work properly (despite this being my fault not his!)

Sam is a true perfectionist who has demonstrated an impressive commitment to wanting to see the whole project through right to the finish. I feel incredibly lucky to have had him in charge of my refurbishment. I would not hesitate in hiring Sam again for any project.

RZ Building Services’ work is excellent; on time, on budget with good solutions and communications the whole way along. Our project was a renovation of a two-bed apartment. We had the bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, doors and subfloors gutted and entirely refitted by Sam and his team. At points where renovation decisions had to change, we simply renegotiated together. There were a number of particular fittings we requested - including a bespoke wardrobe, round corner beading, ceiling coving and a window seat - which have been done exceedingly well. And our bathroom is immaculately installed, a great little room. It was a pleasure working with Sam and his team, he listened to us and we listened to him. We will certainly use RZ Building Services again and highly recommend them.

Sam and his team took on the job of renovating our 3 bed Victorian terraced house. It involved knocking through multiple walls, a new bathroom, cloakroom toilet, kitchen, electrics, gas and water pipes, tiling, plastering plus much more. It was all done on time with all the extra and unforeseen bits needed to be done also completed within the original timeframe.
The team worked long days, and were always tidy and considerate. Sam was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He took great care and pride on our job, offering great advice throughout the build. A trustworthy man who works to a high standard, we feel very lucky to have had him work on our home.

We can't say enough about how great Sam is -- not only is he a very experienced and talented builder, he's also just a wonderful person to know and to work with. We feel so lucky that he was available to work for us. We hired Sam to move our kitchen upstairs and lay a hardwood floor. In the process he had to move a gas pipe upstairs, rewire everything, order some missing kitchen components and assist in the design of the new kitchen, and redecorate everything. Sam and his team did an exceptional job from start to finish. Sam worked very hard, staying late and working every Saturday until it was finished, on schedule and on budget (according to a very competitive quote). What we particularly appreciated was not only that worked to the highest standards but also that he was such a good communicator -- he always asked us what we wanted to do, always picked up the phone or emailed, and always took the time to make sure we understood each other. He was also very attentive to health and safety issues -- we received another quote from a builder who would have buried the gas pipes in the wall, but Sam would never have done that. He made sure everything was as safe as possible. We really valued the sense of complete trust we had in Sam, and this was worth a lot (we haven't always had good experiences with builders). If you hire him you can be sure that he will do the job to perfection and increase the value of your home. As soon as we can we'll have him back for new projects.

Sam completed a full cosmetic makeover and some structural work to my 2 bed flat in central london. In summary he and his team are excellent and you must have no qualms about hiring them. I am a working single woman and so had little time and understanding of building works, plumbing, electricity etc. Sam advised me every step of the way and suggested practical, cost effective improvements that I would never have considered otherwise. I was mostly interested in how things would look but Sam made me think about how they would work! Unlike a lot of other builders he also always considered my budget and left the final decision to me but made it very clear what the pros and cons of the different options were.

He and his guys were polite, considerate and tidy throughout - I even left them to get on with it for 2 weeks while I was in the States and there were no problems. Sam in particular is great to work with - understated, not pushy but has a problem solving can-do brain and approach to his work.

I am thrilled with my flat and absolutely love living here. I would hire Sam and his team again in a heartbeat.

Bathroom install, tiling - East London Bathroom Fitting

I can't recommend Sam and his team highly enough for the work they did at my home - complete refurbishment of kitchen, dining room, bathroom, shower room and also a WC. Although Sam was not the cheapest I chose him for the job because I felt he knew what he was doing and appeared very professional from the outset. He is the only builder I have worked with to have their own contract and offer a 1 year guarantee on work. Quality, finish and time to do the job were amazing. He was also able to start the job much faster than anyone else that I got quotes from. After 2 years the work still looks good and gets compliments.

If I had to make any negative observations - it would be that I had to buy fitting for bathroom, kitchen etc. and did not fully appreciate how quickly Sam would need these. This caused stress for both Sam and I during the job, but this was not his fault. We did have a couple of unforeseen problems with insufficient pressure for a new electric shower - so this affected my quote and increased it quite a bit but the solution we came up with (touch wood) is still functioning fine. Sam was also happy to provide references and when there was some minor snagging came back and attended to these without any problems or delay. Really nice person to work with and reliable.

Full renovation and eventual extension Extensions

Fantastic, professional, hard working, respectful builders - minimised the stress of an extension and full renovation.

Sam and his team were great. Our 1900 (or so) victorian terrace was in dire need of renovation. We extended 4m out the back and COMPLETELY refurbished the inside - leaving only one internal wall in place from the previous lay out.

Full replaster, new foundations and floors, complete rewiring, painting, new kitchen, removal of old kitchen, laying of floors, bringing plumbing up to regulation... pretty much a new home.

Sam was a great project manager and his team were hardworking. Sam was always in the thick of things, installing/building etc as well as project managing. He gave us insight and managed a difficult project where other parties were incompetent or difficult. Our structural engineer charged an arm and a leg - and Sam seemed to know more than they did! Our neighbours are serial complainers but Sam managed them politely. He also managed the building controller process.

The team completed the entire job in three months (amazing!) and were accommodating as much as was possible. They were incredibly hard working.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sam, Tony, Karol and Charlie.
