ARTIST OF THE MONTH | Francisca Prieto (Chile, b 1974)

MAY | Very excited to present Francisca’s exquisite work! She creates unique three-dimensional artworks, which combine collected fragments of history with the architectural principles of space, line and structure. Her investigations are technically and conceptually profound, the result of her own unique experimentation; a long and considered methodology that conveys heightened ideas and fuels a rich character in every work.
 
Prieto’s work is in private and public collections across the world, including the British Library, Tate and National Art Library V&A. Widely exhibited internationally, her most recent solo show at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Museum of Fine Arts) in Chile (2019) was critically acclaimed.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH | Gregori Maiofis

MARCH | This month, we are delighted to collaborate with Marina Shtager Gallery .shtager to present the bromoils of Gregori Maiofis (Russia, b 1970).

Maiofis studied at the Academy of Arts (the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture n.a. Y. Repin) in St Petersburg in the graphic arts department. In 1991 his family moved to Los Angeles, California where he lived until 1995.

Since 1993, he has had solo exhibitions across Russia, Europe, and the US. His work is in many museum collections including the Museum of Fine Art, Houston; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow; The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow; Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro.

We are delighted to share one of our highlights of 2018 - the Queen’s visit in November to our latest project at Schroders' new headquarters in London. We curated a new collection and organised a staff charity auction to dispose of the existing collection. The auction raised nearly £60,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Congratulations to all the team involved! 🥂
