Attitudes to this industry really need to change and salaries payed to reflect the years of study in horticulture, experience and skills that are needed to be a professional gardener.

Skilled gardeners are worth their weight in gold 💰

🚨 BREAKING: Royal Horticultural Society Announces Mandatory "Plant Feelings" Legislation...

"Shouting at your begonias could land you with a £500 fine"

The Royal Horticultural Society, in partnership with the newly formed Office for Botanical Welfare (OBW), announced today that following a landmark 14-year study, plants have been officially reclassified as "sentient organisms capable of emotional distress."

The study, conducted at the University of Shrewsbury's Institute of Horticultural Psychology, found that garden plants exposed to negative comments — such as "You're looking a bit droopy" or "I preferred last year's hydrangeas" — showed measurable increases in what researchers are calling "PHYTO-anxiety."
As a result, new regulations coming into force this summer will require all UK gardeners to:

1. Register their gardens with the OBW and submit an annual Plant Wellbeing Assessment
2. Attend a two-hour mandatory sensitivity training course before purchasing any plant over 30cm tall
3. Replace all garden forks with "low-trauma soil aeration devices"
4. Carry a Botanical Apology Card to present to any plant before pruning

RHS spokesperson Lavinia Crumblewick-Smythe told reporters: "We've known for years that talking to your plants helps them grow. We simply never considered what we were saying."

The legislation has already proven controversial. The National Allotment Society called it "absolute horse sh*te"!
