🎶 Reminder – Tomorrow in Greenwich Park! 🎶

The weather is currently looking dry, so we'd love to see a great turnout for this special free community concert.

🎶 Hackney Community Orchestra & Blackheath Halls Orchestra 🎶
Present: A Celebration of the Music of Ignatius Sancho

📅 Sunday 7th June 2026 | 2–4 PM
📍 Greenwich Park Bandstand

Join us for a special afternoon in Greenwich Park as members of Hackney Community Orchestra and Blackheath Halls Orchestra, along with local musicians, bring to life the music of Ignatius Sancho—composer, writer, and remarkable figure in British history.

Born on a slave ship and brought to England, Sancho rose to become valet to the Duke of Montague and later a grocer in Westminster. A talented composer and man of letters, he corresponded with many leading figures of his time. In tribute to his connection with nearby Montague House, the park named the Ignatius Sancho Café after him in 2024.

Experience a selection of his music, specially arranged for a small orchestra, in the very park he would have known in his youth. 🌿🎵

✨ Free entry – all welcome!

Congratulations Liz and Rick! ✨ 🌟What a great achievement. 💕
