BBC News kanalının dünyanın en ilham verici müzelerini mercek altına aldığı “Inside Museums” adlı belgesel serisinin ilk bölümü İstanbul Modern’e ayrıldı. Sanat eleştirmeni Alastair Sooke’un hazırladığı 24 dakikalık belgeselde, İstanbul Modern’in yeni müze binası mimar Renzo Piano’nun anlatımıyla keşfedilirken, koleksiyon sergisinde yer alan sanatçılarla yapılan röportajlarla da Türkiye sanatında yolculuğa çıkılıyor.
Belgesel, İstanbul Modern’in yeni müze binasının mimarı Renzo Piano ile yapılan röportajla başlıyor. Gülsün Karamustafa, Refik Anadol ve İnci Eviner’in koleksiyon sergisinde yer alan yapıtları üzerine söyleşilerin eşlik ettiği belgeselde müze koleksiyonunun başyapıtlarından Fahrelnissa Zeid’in "Cehennemim"i de anlatılıyor.
Belgesel, kültürlerin eşsiz buluşma noktası olarak tanımlanan İstanbul’dan doğan sanatı bu kadar özel kılan unsurların ne olduğunu keşfediyor. Sooke bu keşfi Türkiye’nin önde gelen sanatçılarının gözünden aktarıyor.
Program BBC News kanalında 8 Temmuz Cumartesi (TSİ) 4.30, 11.30 ve 19.30’da, 9 Temmuz Pazar ise 17.30 ve 23.40’ta yayınlanacak.

The first episode of BBC News' documentary series "Inside Museums," which looks at the world's most inspiring museums, is dedicated to Istanbul Modern. Produced by art critic Alastair Sooke, the documentary explores Istanbul Modern's new building in the company of architect Renzo Piano and takes viewers on a journey of art in Türkiye, through interviews with artists featured in the collection exhibition.
The documentary begins with Renzo Piano, architect of Istanbul Modern's new museum building. Sooke then converses with artists Gülsün Karamustafa, Refik Anadol and İnci Eviner about their works in the museum before turning to one of the principal works in Istanbul Modern’s collection, Fahrelnissa Zeid's "My Hell."
Through the perspectives of Türkiye’s leading artists, Sooke tries to discover what makes the art emerging from Istanbul – which he describes as a unique meeting point of cultures – so special.
The program will be broadcast on BBC News at 4.30, 11.30 and 19.30 on Saturday, July 8 and 17.30 and 23.40 (UTC+3) on Sunday, July 9.
