We have been very busy at West Wharf and Valley Road public toilets getting ready for the new season. It’s been a bit of juggling act to be honest as we have had to deal with the unkind weather. However a week of dry sunshine saw the work take a huge leap forward. A few changes especially at West Wharf loos which have had new wash basins installed as well as a change in colour to the yellow cubicles. Everything looks sharp and bright with added artwork and a few other aesthetic touches, hopefully patrons will appreciate the effort and treat them with respect this year. We can only hope folks 🤞🙏🏼😊

Unfortunately folks West Wharf harbour toilets have been vandalised. The door handle has been broken on the ladies door again. It was only replaced a few weeks ago by the engineer. We now cannot shut the door as it will not open from the inside irrespective of whether money is put into the machine. We have had numerous reports of a group of young boys trying to break into the coin boxes today. The interior of all the toilets are an absolute disgrace with broken toilet holders (again) and alcohol bottles and cans, rubbish strewn everywhere. To those who ask why we shut the harbour toilets early 6pm during these times, well there’s your answer. Ask me if I and my guys enjoy Feast Week!! I can tell you not at all when my day is now going to be spent attending the toilets during the day…….😞

Just to add. Valley rd Hand dryer in gents has been smashed too. Fixed temporarily until replacement is ordered 😞
