The customer originally contacted Sorrel Property Maintenance after being recommended by a previous Mountsorrel customer, which is always a great reflection of the quality of service provided.
The main job was to remove moss and debris from the bungalow roof tiles. Sorrel Property Maintenance used specialist roof tile profile brushes with nylon heads and lightweight carbon extendable poles, allowing the roof to be professionally cleaned from ground level without the need to walk on the roof. This was a great approach to help minimise the risk of damaging the roof tiles.
After the roof moss removal and roof cleaning, the entire roof was thoroughly vacuumed to remove remaining moss, dirt and debris. The property guttering system was also cleaned, leaving the roof and gutters looking clean and well maintained.
The project also included hard landscaping, with a professional w**d suppression membrane installation followed by approximately 1.5 tonnes of decorative gravel. The decorative stone was supplied by Central Aggregates, with a big thank you to Managing Director, Steve Bennett for arranging the supply and delivery.
Moving 1.5 tonnes of decorative stone up a steep driveway and into the rear garden certainly provided a challenge, but the team got the job done — with Marketing Manager, Tracy getting plenty of steps in along the way! 😂💪

Mountsorrel Garage Door & Metalwork Painting.
A returning customer in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire contacted us for a full garage door restoration, metal gate painting, and exterior metalwork refurbishment to improve the appearance and protection of their property.
The garage door had multiple old layers of paint built up over time. We carefully removed three existing coatings to ensure a clean, stable surface for long-lasting adhesion. The door was then professionally finished with two coats of Johnstone’s Smooth Metal Paint, acting as both a primer and durable topcoat for maximum protection and a smooth, modern finish.
The metal railings and front gates were fully prepared by removing all loose and flaking paint before being coated with Hammerite Smooth Black metal paint, providing a tough, weather-resistant and long-lasting finish ideal for exterior metalwork.
The garage door frame bases were repaired using a strong two-part epoxy resin repair system to restore structural integrity. These areas were then finished with two coats of Dulux Weathershield in Chestnut Truffle, ensuring excellent weather protection and a clean, professional colour match.

Another annual visit completed for a returning customer in Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire 🌿✂️

This time it was a 3m x 3m Pyracantha hedge, reduced by approximately a quarter to bring it back under control and keep it looking neat and tidy.

And if you know Pyracantha, you’ll know those thorns certainly make the job interesting — especially working in the midday sun! ☀️🌳

Luckily, we were kept well supplied with plenty of water and even had a chair waiting in the shade for a well-earned rest. A great customer makes all the difference!

Our latest timber window restoration project took us to a beautiful barn conversion in Rothley, Leicestershire, where the property’s original timber window frames had suffered significant weather damage and wood rot. The homeowner had been advised that the only solution was to replace the window frames entirely, but we were able to offer a far more cost-effective and sustainable alternative.

Rather than replacing the existing timber windows, we carried out a full professional timber window repair. Every damaged area was stripped back to sound, healthy wood before applying a specialist wood hardener to strengthen the remaining timber. We then rebuilt the decayed sections using a high-performance two-part epoxy resin, restoring the original shape and strength of the window frames. Despite the challenges of working during the summer heatwave, every stage was completed with care and precision to ensure a long-lasting repair.

Once the restoration work had cured, the frames were prepared using Johnstone’s Egyptian Cotton primer and undercoat before being carefully sanded, filled and finished with Johnstone’s solvent-based Egyptian Cotton top coat. The result was a flawless, durable finish that transformed the appearance of the windows while providing excellent protection against the elements.

Another successful fencing project completed in Loughborough by Sorrel Property Maintenance.

A new customer contacted us to replace a boundary fence bordering their neighbour’s property. The job required careful planning as drainage pipes ran directly alongside the fence post line. Our experienced team carefully excavated around the drains, safely installed new fence posts, and completed the project with traditional neutral-coloured closeboard fence panels.
