If you want tulips and alliums in April, October to November is when to plant the containers. Cooler soil helps bulbs avoid disease and root properly before winter sets in.

Spring bulbs need cool soil, below 15°C, to trigger root development, plus several weeks of cold to form flower buds. Plant too early in warm soil and rooting stays weak. Plant too late and establishment suffers.

We hear this one often.

You have switched to peat-free compost - the right call - but it drains so fast that your containers are dry again by afternoon. With hosepipe bans becoming more common and drought conditions hitting gardens harder each summer, that fast drainage is more than an inconvenience.

CircleRoot was designed for exactly this.

Peat-free compost is lighter and more open in structure than traditional peat-based mixes. It does not hold water the same way.

CircleRoot fills that gap: blended into the growing medium at 10g per litre, it holds 30x its mass in water and releases it slowly to the roots, even through a fast-draining peat-free mix.
