If you want tulips and alliums in April, October to November is when to plant the containers. Cooler soil helps bulbs avoid disease and root properly before winter sets in.
Spring bulbs need cool soil, below 15°C, to trigger root development, plus several weeks of cold to form flower buds. Plant too early in warm soil and rooting stays weak. Plant too late and establishment suffers.
CircleRoot goes in the same way it always does: 10g per litre of compost, blended in before the bulbs go down. It holds moisture in the container through winter, and provides balanced NPK nutrition as the roots develop underground.
By March, they will have had months of steady water and nutrition. The spring result shows.
Step 1 - Fill container with peat-free compost.
Step 2 - Blend in 10g of CircleRoot per litre.
Step 3 - Plant bulbs at the correct depth and water in.
