If you are filling containers and finding the compost is almost dry again within a day of watering, you are not doing anything wrong.

Most potting composts - especially peat-free mixes - drain quickly by design. Good for root health, but it means you end up watering far more often than expected.

It is not the plant. It is the growing medium.

CircleRoot addresses this at the source. Mixed into compost before planting, it holds 30x its mass in water and releases it slowly as the plant needs it. Soil stays moist for longer between waterings.

If you are planting new containers this May, mix it in before you fill them.

Spring planting is underway across the UK. Pots looking healthy and ready to show. Raised beds being filled. Tomato seedlings moving outside for the first time.

If you have already mixed CircleRoot into your compost this spring, the work is done for the season. Water normally for the first couple of weeks while the granules activate fully.

After that, you will start to notice you are reaching for the watering can less often.

That is the product doing its job.

If you have not planted yet, there is still time before peak growing season hits.

Behind every pouch of CircleRoot is a team that has spent 12 years making sure it actually works before it reached your garden.

Jackie McKellar is the Managing Director of Aquagrain - the technology that powers CircleRoot. She joined with a clear brief: take proven science and get it into the hands of the people who need it most.

For UK gardeners, that means a product backed by serious commercial rigour. Not a start-up gamble. Not a garden centre impulse buy. Something that has been trialled, tested, and led by people who know exactly what they are doing.

That is what you are buying when you buy CircleRoot.

If you have been putting off trying CircleRoot because you are not sure how to use it, here is the short version.

Measure 10g of CircleRoot per litre of compost. Mix it in before planting. Water thoroughly after.

That is the whole process.

One application works for 12 months. No reapplication. No separate feeding schedule to manage alongside it.

500g covers 50 litres of compost or approximately 10m2 of raised bed. If you are setting up multiple containers this spring, it works out to less than £2 per large pot for the full season.

Short answer: yes.

Peat-free compost doesn't hold water well - is one of the most common complaints we hear from UK gardeners. It dries out quickly and plants struggle to get established.

Combining CircleRoot with peat free compost improves water retention and directly addresses this frustration.

Mix 10g per litre into your peat-free compost before planting. The application rate is the same regardless of compost type.

Most UK gardeners wait until something goes wrong before they change anything. Soil dries out. Pots need watering twice a day. Growth stalls in the heat.

If you are planting containers, raised beds, or patio pots this month, there is one step worth adding to your process.

Mix CircleRoot into your compost before you plant. 10g per litre. That is it.

It holds 30x its mass in water, so moisture stays in the soil for days between waterings. And it delivers balanced NPK nutrition (5.4-6.6-4.2) for the full growing season. One application, done.

Powered by Aquagrain - proven in professional growing trials for 12 years.

Let's talk about what you're actually spending on container gardens each year.

Most gardeners buy: compost, fertiliser (liquid feed for weekly use), and water-retaining granules. Three separate products. Three separate purchases. Applied at different times throughout the season.

CircleRoot combines water retention and nutrition in one. Mix once at planting. Works for 12 months. A 500g pouch costs less than a liquid feed that lasts half the season. And you're not buying synthetic hydrogels separately. Works out to around £3-4 per large container for an entire year of water retention and feeding.

Question we get a lot: "I already planted last month. Can I still add CircleRoot?"

✅ Short answer: It's designed to be mixed in at planting, so ideally lift plants, blend 1 scoop of CircleRoot into your soil compost, and replant. Water well.

✅ Longer answer: For established plants, you'd need to work it into the root zone somehow. Top-dressing won't work well because it needs soil contact to absorb and release water effectively.

✅ Best approach: Add it when you repot. Or when you refresh compost in containers. Or when you're planting new containers this spring.

If you have containers that haven't been touched yet this year, now's the perfect time.

The three most common reasons seedlings fail:

1️⃣ Drying out. Seed compost in small cells loses moisture fast. You forget to check for one day, and germination stalls or seedlings wilt.

2️⃣ Damping off. Usually from overwatering combined with poor airflow. Trying to compensate for dry compost by drowning it.

3️⃣ Nutrient starvation. Seed compost is intentionally low-nutrient. Once seedlings develop true leaves, they need feeding.

CircleRoot addresses all three. Consistent moisture (not waterlogging). Balanced NPK from day one. Less panic watering.

If you've lost seedlings before, this is worth trying. ✨
