I think I should be good for log stores.... For now πŸ˜‚ this one is built entirely from scrap materials - pallet for the base, old fence rails for the frame with the sides and roof made from the old feather edge boards. I spaced the side boards apart for ventilation. If you're new here, I replaced my fence recently!
(Don't worry the rest of the fence went to the tip - apart from some rails and posts to be re-used as scrap!)

What's the best thing you've made?

If someone asked me this, I'd have to say the giant chopping board I made for Dan. Today, we brought it to our friends' to be a giant cheese board! Doesn't it look amazing covered in cheese and picky bits?!

It's not just for cheese though, we use it every single day. I cut up fruit for breakfast and lunch and we prep tea on it every night. It's super easy to clean and wipe down and looks amazing, I love it!

Would you have one in your kitchen?

It's been great having a fire for a cosy night in... And also for reducing how much oil we use πŸ˜¬πŸ˜… anyone else had to top up their tank recently 😭 I made this lovely sawhorse out of old fence.... which means I have constructed my fence! πŸ₯³ Follow along to see the reveal!

I should be good for firewood for a little bit but will need to be a goblin and try to source some more for next winter! Are you besties with an arborist? Or a pallet collector? What are your free firewood tips?

That's why I'm DIY ✨ish✨! Today we are revisiting a project and fixing it. No more soggy logs! Did you spot the error the first time? I think I got confused by the firring slope being the same as the feather edge slope and also getting carried away with my (previously gifted) shiny new fun nailer from Ryobi Tools UK πŸ˜… Luckily I'm pretty nifty at pulling nails with my hammer - lots of practice on pallets coming in handy! πŸ”¨

Christmas 2023 my brother and wife got us these cute door number tiles from their trip to Spain. When they came over at Christmas in 2023 we announced we were moving house πŸ˜‚ terrible timing!! And yes, we were changing house numbers! I managed to locate a seller of the same tiles and put the new number in my basket... And changed it multiple times due to purchases falling through πŸ™ƒ when we finally moved I purchased the correct number. But I couldn't find the ends and the dog tiles in all the moving boxes. In December we got our front door changed - the house number was within the window of the old door. So when I found the tiles this morning, I realised we were without a door number for about 2 months - oops! πŸ˜‚ It is done now. Yes I live at a numbered house, not blank house, no I'm not telling you what house number I am! πŸ˜‚

Throwing it back to 2016! To me it doesn't seem that long ago but at the same time I'd forgotten about a few things!

Better late than never? I've been making this post for the last couple of weeks! had forgotten quite how many things actually completed last year! I could have made two posts had so many, but l condensed it down to my favourites. Which one was your favourite? I cannot wait to get my fence, workshop and garden sorted for summer! Ambitious, I know! πŸ˜‚ Lots to do this year too

ad | made a log store with my gifted nail gun from Gryobitoolsuk! Armed with my new nailer, a load of pallets, inspiration from Gthecarpenters_daughter Vikkie's recent build and the fast approaching winter storms threatening to soak my firewood through my disintegrating tarp... built myself a log store. built it over a few days as had to keep moving the logs around, re-stacking them, and avoiding the great British weather. think might have to build more but this will do for now! Please share your best tips in the comments for getting your hands on free firewood!!
