Hi All! I’m glad to be back in the UK after a longer than expected stay in Australia. Much mechanical and plumbing work on my boat which I’m glad to say is now sold. Now ready and available to help with those jobs that you might like doing! Perhaps some shelves putting up, tiling, fencing or building a flat pack? Or maybe taps changing or leaky pipes?
One thing I’m coming across more and more are curtain rails pulling from the wall, especially in more modern homes where corners might be cut a bit during installation. Usually it’s a result of the curtain rails brackets being merely screwed into the plasterboard using raw plugs. This is often inadequate and results in the brackets working loose under the weight of the curtains. A solution that I use is to fasten a timber batten to the wall into which the brackets are then screwed. The batten is secured with multiple fasteners where it spreads the load of the curtains on the brackets. It’s tidy and unobtrusive. Perhaps you have a similar problem that might need fixing?
