🌿 Repeat Client – Raised Sleeper Bed Installation 🌿

Great to be invited back by a returning client to build on our previous work, where we installed the rear sleeper border and planted trees.

This time, we created a brand new raised sleeper bed along the side of the property, perfect for planting and future garden features.

✅ Treated timber sleeper construction
✅ Full DPC (damp-proof course) lining for durability
✅ Filled with 2 tonnes of premium topsoil
✅ Topped with 250kg of 10–20mm horticultural potting gravel for improved drainage

Project Complete – Raised Sleeper Bed with Olive Trees 🌿

Here’s a recent transformation completed in just 9 days:

✅ Installed 7 mature olive trees in a custom-built raised sleeper bed
✅ Integrated perforated pipe system for efficient, low-maintenance watering
✅ Installed a French drain beneath the bed to prevent waterlogging and drainage issues
✅ Mixed 10mm agricultural grit into the topsoil to further aid drainage and root health
✅ Sleeper bed lined with damp-proof course (DPC) and treated for longevity to prevent wood rot

A clean, functional, and elegant garden feature built to last.

Crabtree Farm Primary School - Ground Transformation!

Big thank you to Crabtree Farm Primary School for giving me the opportunity to take on this rewarding project!

What began as an overgrown, unsafe and unused space (photos 1 & 2), has now been completely transformed into over 250m² of usable play area for the children (photo 3).

Here’s what we did:
•Fully dismantled 4 planters around the back
•Emptied, de-weeded and topped up all planters with fresh topsoil
•Removed fencing (on the planters) to open up space and improve visibility
•Laid 70m² of fresh turf after levelling with 4 tonnes of topsoil
•Added sensory-friendly materials like play bark, sand, and gravel
•Left space for bedding plants for future planting (topsoiled and filled too)

This was a tough job, but being able to return this space to the children made it all worth it!

50m² Slate Patio Installation – Completed 2024

This project involved the installation of a 50m² natural slate patio, designed to enhance both functionality and visual appeal in a modern garden setting. The work included:
•Full ground preparation with appropriate excavation and sub-base installation for durability.
•Precision laying of dark slate paving slabs in a contemporary staggered pattern, bordered with lighter-toned edging blocks for a clean contrast.
•Integration of pathways connecting the house to the lawn and outdoor seating area, creating a seamless flow throughout the space.

The result is a sleek, low-maintenance outdoor area perfect for entertaining, with high-end materials and sharp detailing throughout.

Productive Maintenance Day in the Sun ☀️

Today’s schedule included a variety of essential garden maintenance tasks:

✅ Weeding & Bed Preparation – Cleared unwanted growth between planting beds to keep the landscape neat and healthy.

✅ Lawn Care & Restoration – Mowed the lawn, then carried out a small patch up job, including:
• Scarification to remove built-up thatch and improve air circulation.
• Manual Aeration using a pitchfork to enhance soil drainage and root growth.
• Overseeding with a nutrient-rich topsoil and compost mix for a lush, even finish.

✅ Final Mowing Job – Wrapped up the day with a clean, precise lawn cut, leaving the client’s outdoor space looking fresh and well-maintained.

Another garden transformation complete! ✅ We replaced the old sleepers with fresh sturdy ones, installed new fence posts, and threaded a chain through for a budget friendly fence that secures the perimeter. The area was fully deweeded, shrubs were trimmed back for a neat finish, and all waste—both timber and green—was responsibly removed and disposed of. A cleaner, safer, and more polished outdoor space ready to be enjoyed!

Today, I worked on giving a garden a fresh, tidy look by:
• Trimming overgrown shrubs – bringing back definition and making sure each plant has its own space again
• Weeding thoroughly – clearing out unwanted growth to keep the garden neat and healthy
• Removing all waste – green waste was collected and disposed of (£20 per tonne bag)
• Adding extra landscaping touches – reshaping borders, clearing debris, and refining the overall layout

All of this was done at a maintenance rate of £30 per hour, ensuring the garden looks its best while keeping it manageable for the future. If your outdoor space needs a tidy-up, get in touch!
