Nuneaton's Footballing Heritage

Nuneaton Town Supporters' Co-operative successfully secured a Heritage Lottery Fund Grant to present a history of senior football in the town. Entitled ‘From Town to Town’ the project aims to chart the history of the football club from its formation in 1889 to the present day. As well as recording results, scorers, who played for and who managed the club the project will be uncovering the human st

ories and local heroes behind the facts. The project aims to record a comprehensive football club history and to provide information and artefacts that can be taken out into the community to educate and enrich the lives of local people. Whilst the football club will be at the forefront of the project it is hoped that there will be something for everyone as we would also like to present a flavour of what life was like in Nuneaton during this time

The A5 derby has been one of the classic non-league derbies for many years, and nothing highlights just how big a game this can be than two days across the Christmas period over 75 years ago.

A new era dawns for the A5 derby tonight, as Nuneaton Town take on Hinckley AFC at the Oval, the first for 14 years and the first meeting since the both clubs reformed.

FTTT were delighted to support yesterday's fundraising Summer Fayre at Chilvers Coton Heritage Centre who continue to showcase Nuneaton Town Football Club in a positive light to the local community.

We were inundated with visitors who spoke enthusiastically about the club and there is undoubtedly a real desire to see the club back playing in Nuneaton.

A number of conversations were had regarding potential links and help for the club going forward and this is testament to the great work being done & the trust built by everyone at the club.
Details of these conversations will be forwarded to the club.

The Heritage Centre have undoubtedly played their part in keeping NTFC at the forefront of everyone's mind so if possible please support this years Mayor's Appeal which is raising vital funds for urgent repairs to the Centre.

The Mayor and Heritage Centre volunteers will be guests of the club at the home game v Godmanchester Rovers on Saturday 11th October.

The centre is FREE to visit and the opening times are Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday's 10am-1pm.
