They grow up so fast, don't they?

I was grateful to be offered a job lot of 2nd Edition Space Marines last week. As one might expect there's bits missing and damaged models, but it's a box full of nostalgia.

A hefty dose of isopropyl helped me get a mini back to the grey plastic, and it's all set up to paint. Hopefully it'll be the first video in a great series, travelling back to my earliest Warhammer 40,000 days.

It's been one my favourite pieces to paint so far, and I'm looking forward to bringing it to the tabletop soon.

Don't varnish your models like this!

This is one of my Khorne Flesh Hounds, all the crevices gunked up with an over enthusiastic spray of varnish. I keep it (and it's compatriots) as my "models of shame": a healthy reminder.

Check out my video coming out on YouTube tomorrow, where I'll talk about applying varnish with an airbrush, and cautioning against the mistakes I've made in the past, so that you don't have to.
