Harris Horticulture Horticultural company specialising in soft landscaping and other garden maintenance. Garden design, He then started his formal horticultural education.

Over the last 23 years since making a decision to work in horticulture, we have developed in a very ‘grass roots’ way. Simon began his career working for the local council planting and maintaining public gardens in his home town. This is where he gained his NVQ Level 1, 2, and 3, then his HND in Horticulture. All before completing a degree giving him a BSc (Hort). Simon’s education also gave him a

variety of experiences, including a placement for 12 months working at the Hillier Arboretum in Hampshire. Throughout the years he’s gained a number of certificates appropriate to his work in chemical spraying, small tree works (chainsaw), and tractors. Since gaining his degree, Simon has worked for a hard landscaping company as a Contracts Manager, managed an Estate belonging to the Duke of Wellington, and spent the last 8 years working in wholesale nurseries. The nursery work has given him an extensive knowledge of a variety of shrubs, perennials, and trees. We feel aids him to support you in the decisions you may need to make about your garden.

Pleaching limes to delineate the ornamental area to cut flower/ glasshouse area, adding vertical height to the garden. I suggested this to the client and they were happy with my thinking. Made the frames myself and trees supplied by Ashridge nurseries, Somerset. The trees are flat lime. They made the training very straightforward.
