I've been catching up on a few podcasts this week while travelling. One really stood out. 'Radical with Amol Rajan' is one of my favourites. This time it was with Andy Cato (you'd probably know him for being one half of Groove Armada and running experiments on Clarkson's farm using regenerative farming principles).

I'm a huge regenerative farming fan and I've attended many FarmED sessions where you can visibly see that there are no worms (yes ZERO) in a monoculture field. I won’t go into detail - but WORMS ARE EVERYTHING!

So you could say this is quite a big passion of mine! But this podcast stood out because Andy said:

"Every experiment in farming takes a year"

He then explained that he likely only had 20 years of being physically able (farming is very tough!) to do those experiments, so he needed to start straight away.

Most experiments in business also take a long time! Rarely is there a quick fix.
My move into garden design and mentoring might look from the outside as something I launched overnight. Far from it. It’s many, many years in the build up. Lots of tests and experiments. Lots of failures.

Just like starting my architecture practice 15 years ago, the first few years were an endless list of tests, experiments and failures.

So my advice is this - if you are thinking about a change, a shift, a passion you’d like to do more of - DON’T WAIT! As Andy says, life is simply too short not to start now.

Clare visited the UK's flagship arable farming event, Cereals 2026, which took place at Diddly Squat farm shop and pub this year! It was wonderful to see industry knowledge, innovation and expertise come together to help improve the future for arable farmers.

Clare took a stand at the Kenilworth Show to chat with people dreaming about barn conversions, rural plot developments, and farmhouse renovations. In true "good old British summer" style, it was absolutely freezing! Thankfully, the sun finally cracked through, and the energy was brilliant!

I was delighted to join the Stories That Sell podcast recently. Naomi is a fantastic interviewer who really uncovered the stories behind our work at Clare Nash Architecture.
In this episode, I share my journey from travelling the world to building CNA. We also discuss the importance of designing homes that truly reflect the people who live in them.
A huge thank you to Naomi and the Stories That Sell team for such an enjoyable conversation.
The episode is now live!

In this episode of Stories That Sell, I’m joined by Oxfordshire-based Clare Nash, architect, author, mentor and founder of Clare Nash Architecture, for a conversation about sustainable homes, solo travel, questioning the expected path and designin...

I’m trying something new and exhibiting at the Kenilworth rural show today. Reminds me a bit of the final shows I used to do at architecture school! Hopefully there’s not as much criticism here!

What will be needed from me?

Lots of our clients worry about this. They are very busy people. Busy being a business owner, a professional, holding a family together. The last thing they need is another load of last minute questions! Plus these kinds of decisions can feel heavy. There’s a permanence about choosing a floor finish isn’t there!

In this workshop I’m going to tell you exactly what to expect and when. How we help you with decisions, how we spread it out for you.

If this resonated with you join me on the Architect’s Process workshop. It’s coming soon!
