A bold injection of colour within a Grade II-listed frame.

In a Somerset manor, this Teddy Edwards kitchen is designed to be the energetic heart of the home. The striking, custom-painted blue paired with a heavily veined marble work surface creates a beautiful tension between the old and the new.

Look closer, and you’ll see the heritage details. The intricate ceiling cornicing and original marquetry flooring around the perimeter seamlessly meet modern, bespoke touches like our signature curved cabinetry. It’s a space that respects its history without being defined by it.

This double-island kitchen sits at the heart of a large open-plan living space, bringing calm and structure to a room designed for real family life.

It is easy to imagine the scene. Homework sprawled across the bar. Someone is cooking dinner. Someone else is half-watching the television from the dining table. A child reaching for a pre-dinner snack while telling their mum about their day.

That is what open-plan design should do. Allow all of life’s smaller moments to happen together, without the room ever feeling muddled. The double island gives the kitchen structure, keeping it connected to everything going on around it.

The secret to a warm kitchen isn’t just the colour palette.

It’s the fluted timber catching the light. The worn leather. The brushed plaster walls and warm wood tones throughout the space.

Texture is what softens a room. It adds warmth and depth, stopping everything from feeling flat or overly polished. It creates that sense of comfort and ease that makes you want to sink into the sofa and never move.

Who says you can’t have two statement stones in one room?

For this Oxford project, it was all about the interplay between the materials. We love how the light catches the grain of the dark-stained oak, but the real drama comes from the porcelain.

Bringing together the Verde Borgogna around the Aga and the Calacatta Antique on the island adds a level of energy and elegance that feels both modern and timeless.

We always listen to the client’s brief. Even when the client has four legs and a knack for rolling in the grass.

In this Grade II-listed Somerset home, we designed a second prep and laundry kitchen with what these two would say was the number one requirement: a custom indoor shower.

They’ve certainly had enough of cold hose-downs in the garden.

A cocktail from the home bar or a bottle from the wine room? Nice problem to have, especially with that view.
