ad Secret’s out - this corner has had more of a transformation than just my DIY project 🛋️

Yep, the Cotswolds is rubbing off on me, and I’m now a cream sofa girl! We fell in love with ’s Portland corner sofa when we visited their showroom last year, it has the comfiest seats, can seat 7 which is so much better for when we have guests round and has totally transformed how we use this end of the room. All of a sudden the space which was centred around the TV, has become so much more sociable, cosy and homely!

You guys know I love a bit of colour, and I always have a paintbrush in hand ready to change things in our decor. Choosing a cream sofa wasn’t something I was expecting to do when we walked into the showroom, but I quickly realised going cream would actually give us the best base to futureproof all my future design and colour choices. Changing out throws, rugs and cushions will enable me to freshen up this space when I get the itch so much more easily and I know this sofa will stay with us for a long time to come!

Now the secret is out, I’d love to know what you think of this corner? 🥰 worth all the many hours of painting?

I think I may be turning into a bow girl for Christmas 2025 🎄🎀

Ro is out for the afternoon for the rugby so what else is a girl who’s not meant to be decorating do but add a Christmas bow to her dressing table? 💁🏻‍♀️ Next weekend is Christmas tree weekend as my baubles will be here, can’t help but feel like I’m behind decorating, but can’t wait to have some more Christmas cheer in the house!

Would love to know what you’ve all been up to, and the bow was a bargain Tiktok shop find, let me know if you want a link!

Millennials 🤝🏻 panelling

Ro has been on at me to panel in here since we painted the room saying it needed a bit of something else. I held off for two years…and then I got the itch to just do it. Well, dare I say it, he was right! I was a bit worried panelling had had its day but it just adds so much, and particularly works well in this room as it has such high ceilings!

For those that followed on stories, you’ll know this was a challenging room to panel as it’s not quite symmetrical and my pernickety self struggles with imperfection. To try to tackle it, I worked out the design using masking tape first so I could make sure I was fully happy with it before then sticking the wood to the wall which worked a treat!

I picked up the panelling from B&Q and already had leftover paint, all in all for a £150 project with took me two weekends, I’m pretty pleased. I’ll also do a longer video to show you all the steps we did to plan and get this looking as we did.

What do you think? 🙌🏻

Back in my patterned bedding era ✨ Scroll for the details, and let me know are you team white sheets, or team pattern?

Until now I’ve always been team white sheets for this room as I just couldn’t find the right patterned set. Some of you might remember our patterned sheets from our old bedroom (which insta always loved - scroll to the end for a reminder 🥹) so know I do love a pattern and I’m so happy to have found a set which works so well in this room!

I do still love a classic white set, particularly in summer, but as we head into autumn and winter a patterned bedding set just adds a level of cosiness I love. This set is called Navy Ditsy floral from and I cannot wait to crawl into here later!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a traditional post on Instagram showing all the details, so hope you’ve enjoyed this one to scroll and zoom at your leisure.

And why we can’t go for it 🫣😂 (quite yet)

Perhaps thankfully for my to do list, we have a restriction in our deeds (like most new builds do!) which means we can’t do this until 5 years after our purchase date (or before if approved after paying a fee), so it won’t be on the list quite yet…but a girl can dream! It’s something to be aware of when buying a new build, there’s normally restrictions on any external appearance of the property, which even includes painting the front door. Now there is a question as to whether that would ever be enforced, but it is something to be aware of.

Anyway at least my ChatGPT is going less rogue now and is following instructions, and hope you’re all having a fab Monday gang 🫶🏻

Nothing beats a bank holiday golden hour ☀️

What a treat to have two bank holidays in one month, we spent this one doing all the bits in the house I have been putting off in the weeks whilst work took priority, such as sorting the inevitable piles that had built up both in the house and in the garage. We also spent a lot of time in the garden prepping for summer by scarifying, reseeding and top dressing the lawn. Keep your fingers crossed, and let’s hope all the hard work pays off and in a few weeks time for the next bank holiday the lawn has sprouted as next time we’re hosting at the house 🙌🏻🌱

I hope you all had lovely bank holiday weekends doing whatever took your fancy, and that you have a fab week ahead. I’d love to know what you’ve been up to if you’re up for sharing!

Bank holiday evening sun and day 1 round up☀️

We’ve had such a productive first bank holiday day! We were up early, although weren’t organised this week so couldn’t get on the usual Saturday workout we do (so are booked in tomorrow instead!), and instead headed to town so Ro could get his haircut whilst I picked up some bits which were on the restock list.

Ro then spent most of the afternoon in the garden scarifying, and I prepped the stepped up patio area which will soon be our hot tub area 🙌🏻 and ordered a new garden gate as that’s been on our “dread list” for about 4 months. Anyone else have a dread list or just me?! 😂

Tomorrow the aim is to topsoil and reseed and feed the lawn, lay the bark in the beds in the garden, and sort and clean the garage which is a tip from when we had the bathroom doing. I feel like it doesn’t sound like loads but will take forever! We’re hosting some IOM 🇮🇲 friends next weekend so that’s why this one is an organisation weekend.

Would love to know what you’re all up to? Are you busy or having a chilled one?

DIY BACKSPLASH UPDATE 🙌🏻

It’s not finished, and my god this has taken it out of us, but ALL THE TILES ARE ON THE WALL and we felt that deserved a post! Swipe for a reminder of when this came to life in Jan as I was playing around with patterns, and also a reminder of the kitchen on move in day. My gosh we’ve come a way (slowly because it’s hard around work!) but I’m proud we’ve done it without replacing the kitchen in its entirety and instead tweaking and improving step by step.

Now this is only a quick post, as I still need to grout tonight, but I wanted to mark the moment with a post 🙌🏻 I have MAFS at the ready, enough Pepsi max to last me a week, so much encouragement from you all (thank you!!!) so let’s go and get this kitchen backsplash finished 💪🏻

Big shout out to Ro who has very much been all the help behind the camera, he’s getting an evening off now whilst I grout to enjoy the masters ⛳️

For slow Sunday - here’s an after and before of our new build kitchen diner 🤍

I’ve been quite quiet on Instagram as I got quite overwhelmed after a viral video resulted in some very odd (and personal) comments. Taking a bit of time was good to just reset, I share the house because I love to, and hope it might help someone else if they gave the same dilemma, or are searching for a similar paint or piece of furniture, so I won’t be going anywhere!

I’m really proud of how this room has changed and is step by step feeling more homely from the changes we’ve made. It’s about 11m x 4.5m, but has a step out midway along so it’s quite a big room and needed some thought to make it work and zone each area, and the bioethanol fireplace is genuinely my favourite new addition and I’m always happy to answer any questions on it!

Hope you all have had lovely weekends whatever you’re up to, and hope you have a great week 🤍
