Been quiet on here since lockdown as I am subcontracting on a big new build in Constantine currently, but I managed to build a little studio room for myself in the back of a garage early on in lockdown with a little help from Daniel Wall ๐Ÿ‘Œ.

Went the whole hog with the room in a room construction and with resilient bars, 2 layers of soundbloc board and 200mm of rockwool acoustic along with a heat recovery system itโ€™s definitely been worth the effort.

looking forward to adding a few more bits but it definitely surpassed my expectations ๐Ÿฅณ

So during this lockdown so far, it has given me the opportunity to finish some projects at home, including finishing the renovation of a 1940โ€™s garage to store my tools and car (decided in my boredom to do both blockwork effect render internally and also externally (I cursed myself during but was happy with the finished result) being a garage after all to be in keeping but still giving it all the waterproofing properties as itโ€™s only 6โ€™โ€™ single skin. Alongside countless walks and car/van cleaning I also managed to use up some samples of Italian โ€˜travertoโ€™ and โ€˜marmorinoโ€™ plaster on my stair area at home, I blended these two different textured plasters to create a marble effect and only had a spoonful left (completely by luck ๐Ÿ˜…)

What have you guys been up to?

Nice to see some finished photos of the gallery in Rock from a few weeks back, full reskim with no skirting, stop beads to floor with led strip around the perimeter, plastered in light tracks and 2 micro cement โ€˜concreteโ€™ feature walls.

Always testing with so many different brights lights hitting plaster work from different angles but it keeps me on my toes ๐Ÿ˜… and itโ€™s always satisfying when it comes out well ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Really loved this one and a credit to Jethro Jackson and Kurt Muller for running the show and producing this epic final result ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Completed this balustrade/planter render job today after waiting too long for some good weather.

Rustic/wonky finish to suit this old cottage so no beads, no straight edges and no float just lay it up, nice limey mix, leave it a while then a double sponge.

Makes a nice change from the usual clean lines and sharp edges.

Quick paint in the week and itโ€™ll be ready for some plants ๐Ÿ‘

Nice little job started today.

Cavity wall planter built as balustrade, scratch coat rendered and shaped out the haunching on top ready for top coat.

No render beads to be used to match existing and allow for shape of the render to really come out.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Little hack off and re-render patches which had failed/blown at a property in Newquay.

Previous plasterer had used too much plasticiser causing it to crumble to dust in places ๐Ÿ’จ

A 15mm scratch coat with a 5mm top coat didnโ€™t help it much either though ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Small plastering job taken on for Porthilly Gallery recently, ready for their new custom furniture install.

Makes a break from the square, straight walls we are used too.

Clean and tidy job means a happy customer. ๐Ÿงฝ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿค
