The substructure is a trickey part of an extension or new build. I take my time with the footing. This way, all the other building stages will run more smoothly. Level, plumb and square; all the way around. With minimal tolerance.

Screwing plasterboard to the ceiling should be done at regular intervals. I've gone for 15cm.

Use a laser to range the joist line through the ceiling, or mark a line on the boards using a pen and a long straight piece of wood.

Then cut a stick at 15cm and use it as a gauge rod to achieve a consistent interval between your screws
