Bathrooms have definitely been keeping me busy lately 🛁 and I’ve just recently completed this ensuite transformation over in Eggbuckland, Plymouth for couple who originally contacted me through a recommendation from a previous bathroom renovation I completed back in 2018 — which is always genuinely appreciated 👌

Huge thanks to past customers who continue to recommend my work years later — as a small business it genuinely means a lot and it’s a massive help.

They’re now also having their main bathroom renovated over the coming month, and it’s going to be an amazing transformation once completed.

There’s also plenty more exciting projects lined up over the coming year, so keep an eye on the page for more transformations, progress updates and finished results coming soon.

Alongside bathrooms, I’m also taking bookings for:

✔️ Kitchens
✔️ Bedrooms & fitted furniture
✔️ Media walls
✔️ Bespoke carpentry
✔️ Renovations & property improvements

One thing I’ve noticed with social media nowadays is there’s a lot of flashy videos and “look how busy we are” posts from trades pages… but not always much actual work being shown or the work being shown or it’s just a quick walk around video not giving customers a real opportunity to see the details👀

So I try to keep things a bit more real:
📸 Before photos
🔧 Progress shots
✅ Finished results

I’d rather show proper transformations from start to finish and let the actual work speak for itself, rather than just posting a quick video of me hanging a door or walking around a job saying how busy I am 🤷‍♂️

Attention to detail is a massive part of what I do, and for me it’s always the finishing touches that really bring a project to life and make the difference once everything comes together.

All works are personally carried out and project managed throughout to make sure the standard stays consistent from the first day through to the finished result.

Big thanks to everybody who’s recommended, shared posts or booked work in recently — it’s genuinely appreciated 👍

Availability currently open for upcoming projects.

From dated and divided… to modern, bright and spacious!

This bathroom transformation completely changed the feel of the space by removing the wall between the bathroom and WC, creating a much more open, practical layout.

The new design features:
• Full bath/shower combination
• Contemporary feature tiling
• Gunmetal fixtures and fittings
• Modern vanity basin unit
• Heated towel radiator
• New flooring and lighting throughout

The contrast between the old layout and the finished result is massive — the room now feels bigger, brighter and far more luxurious while still making the most of the available space.

Another quality transformation completed by Aurora Home Improvements with this one being tiled by Gavin from G&N wall and floor tiling.

Big difference on this one in Glenholt, Plymouth!

Full ensuite rip out and refit. The old one was tired, dated and just looked and felt cramped due to the original layout of the room, it’s now been swapped out for a clean, modern setup that makes way better use of the space and just looks and feels so much more spacious, even with darker colours.

Nice walk-in shower, wall panels, new vanity unit and flooring — simple but done properly and built to last.

Always good seeing them go from something you wouldn’t really want to use, to a space that actually feels fresh and comfortable.

If you’re thinking about getting your bathroom or ensuite done, give us a message 👍

Bathroom Transformation Completed!

This one originally had a bath, but the customer needed easier, safer access — so the bath was swapped out for a clean, modern walk-in shower.

Fresh tiling, new plumbing, LVT flooring, and all the finishing touches you’d expect from a full bathroom refit. Basically… everything except the rubber duck 🦆 (but if you really wanted one, I could probably sort that too).

I’ll drop the before, during and finished photos below so you can see the full journey — not just the polished end result, or a quick 10 second video a lot of companies tend to post up!

If you’re thinking about upgrading your home, I don’t just do bathrooms. I also take on:
• Kitchens
• Fitted bedrooms
• Media walls
•And all other aspects of internal works

If you’ve got a project in mind, big or small, feel free to message the page. Always happy to help and give honest advice. 👍

Another one ticked off! The downstairs WC is now fully completed and looking miles better than what I started with.

The room had a bit of everything going on — awkward layout, tired finishes and no real style — so it was stripped back and rebuilt properly. New modern sanitaryware, fresh pipework, updated lighting, clean wall panels, and a crisp finish all round. And it also ties in the same theme as the bathroom and ensuite.

A small space, but a massive difference. On to the next one and it’s only 2 houses down the road.

If anyone needs help with their own home improvements, give me a shout.

Main bathroom transformation completed.

After sharing the en suite last week, the main bathroom has now been completed. The airing cupboard was removed to open the room up and allow for a much better layout. The basin and toilet were repositioned, making space for a large walk-in shower with a low profile tray and modern shower panels.

The floor was finished using glue-down luxury vinyl tile (LVT) in a herringbone design. Unlike floating click systems, this type of flooring is fully bonded to the subfloor, which creates a more stable and durable finish and is particularly well suited to bathrooms where temperature and moisture levels can fluctuate.

With new lighting, updated plumbing and a full refresh throughout, the room now feels far more open and modern.

Keep an eye on the page over the next few days as I’ll also be sharing the finished downstairs WC.

One completed ensuite in Plympton

The ensuite is now all wrapped up, and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. This was actually the second job in the house — the first was fitting a new oak and glass staircase, which made a massive difference as soon as you walk through the door.

For the ensuite, I’ve installed white marble shower panels, renewed all the plumbing, and laid LVT herringbone flooring using a glue-down system. I always prefer glue-down over click, especially in bathrooms. It sits flatter, feels more solid, handles moisture better, and doesn’t expand or lift with heat changes — just a cleaner, longer-lasting finish all round.

The main bathroom is nearly complete, so I’ll get some photos up in the next few days. While I’ve been working there, the customer also asked if I could modernise the downstairs toilet also, so that’s been done too.

Once all this is finished, I’ll be back in a few months to take on the kitchen renovation, so the whole house will end up fully updated.

If you’re thinking about any kind of home improvement work — kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, media walls or anything else — feel free to drop me a message.

Another great project completed by Aurora Home Improvements— this time a bespoke media wall built seamlessly around the customer’s existing log burner in Plymouth.

This install was carried out in Plympton and finished before I undertook the full bathroom renovation for the same customer. The media wall was designed to blend perfectly with the room’s layout while adding a modern, clean focal point that works beautifully with the log burner already in place.

A really enjoyable project and a fantastic transformation for the space!

If you’re thinking about upgrading your living area with a custom media wall or have a renovation project in mind, feel free to get in touch. Always happy to help bring your ideas to life.

Here’s another bathroom renovation I completed towards the end of last year in Plympton. This was actually the second job I’ve done for these customers, after installing a media wall earlier in the year – I’ll get a post up for that soon as well.

The house originally started out as a four-bed, but at some point it had been altered to a three-bed with a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite. The new owners wanted it returned to a four-bedroom layout, but with a better use of space, so the bathroom could be a good size while still keeping plenty of room for their new nursery. After reworking the layout, everything now sits much better and feels far more practical.

The bathroom was a back to the shell refurb: all the walls were tiled, LVT flooring was fitted, gunmetal fixtures and fittings were used throughout, and it now features a slate shower tray with a fixed glass panel, making it easier to keep clean, LED lighting and an upgraded extractor fan. I also fitted new oak doors throughout the upstairs to tie in with the rest of the property.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out and as you can see from the photos, a fair amount of work went into this one. I’ll be posting more of last year’s projects over the next few weeks before getting underway posting 2026 installs.

If you’re looking to book in work or want to discuss a project, feel free to get in touch.
