It was great to spend time discussing how we can support the park in becoming more inclusive and accessible for neurodiverse families.

Over the past couple of days, we’ve had the opportunity to stay on site and really understand the park from a guest’s perspective — looking at suitable plots, the existing hire fleet and the facilities available.

Today, we explored how My Safe Place Southern purpose built accommodation and retrofit packages, alongside tailored staff training, can help create a more inclusive holiday experience while also opening up a whole new market for the business.

For many neurodiverse families, finding suitable holiday accommodation can be incredibly challenging. By making thoughtful changes to accommodation, facilities and staff understanding, we can help give families who may not normally book the confidence and opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved break together.

We’re now putting together a detailed report outlining our recommendations and associated costs, allowing the business to consider supporting neurodiverse families as part of its 2027 CAPEX planning.

This is exactly why we do what we do — working collaboratively with businesses to create meaningful change, improve accessibility and ultimately help more families make amazing holiday memories.

We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to receive this recognition.

At My Safe Place Southern, we are passionate about making holidays accessible for everyone. After 36 years in the holiday park sector and supporting three neurodivergent family members, I saw first-hand the barriers that many families face when trying to enjoy a break away.

That inspired us to design the UK's very first neurodivergent-friendly holiday caravan—carefully created to reduce sensory overload, increase safety, provide predictability, and enable families to truly relax. Alongside this, we've developed staff training and our own accreditation scheme to help create more inclusive holiday environments.

Our first pioneering caravan is now welcoming guests Wooler Park in Northumberland, and this is just the beginning.

Our vision is to expand this initiative across the UK so that the 22 million people affected by neurodiversity have access to holidays that genuinely meet their needs. We're also proud to be working with the Tri Armed Forces to ensure military families can benefit from our unique offering.

Winning gives us an incredible platform to raise awareness, build new partnerships with holiday park operators, and continue driving meaningful change.

So how did I get us an invite to Whitehall????

In the past few weeks I have attended several high profile mixed armed forces events.

WHY???? Because in my early life I was a military wife so it has been a real privilege to combine this with my work in SEND & Holiday Parks including:

SEND Workshop at Royal Marines, Hamworthy looking at the impact of neurodiversity on our military families.

Opening of SEND4 Wimborne and signing of armed forces covenant.

Armed Forces Covenant Workshop at 6 Ri**es, Dorchester.

We are looking to support our military personnel and families by working with our industry to provide suitable accommodation and breaks across UK holiday parks. I know from experience that families need to reconnect after deployment, and it’s even tougher when you have a neurodiverse family, so we want to provide quiet, safe, sensory environments.

What's most important is creating a space where people feel understood, respected, and welcome.

As language evolves, so will the conversations. What matters is that your intentions are genuine, you're listening to the neurodivergent community, and you're committed to learning along the way.

She knew there had to be a better way.

Today, she's working tirelessly to make that vision a reality—helping to create neuro-friendly holiday accommodation, supporting holiday parks to become more inclusive, and driving positive change across the UK staycation market.

It's a fantastic step forward for inclusive travel, and it shows just how important it is to create holidays where everyone feels welcome.

At My Safe Place, we believe families shouldn't have to travel abroad to enjoy an inclusive holiday experience.

That's why we're working to make the UK holiday market more neuro-friendly, one holiday home at a time.

From thoughtfully designed accommodation to supporting holiday parks with neurodiversity awareness and training, our mission is simple: to help create holidays that are calmer, more comfortable, and more accessible for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

Some days you get to meet the most incredible people…..

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the SEND4 community launch event and the signing of the armed forces covenant organised by the wonderful Amy Walton BA Hons

I am working closely with the mixed armed forces and local charities like SEND4 who are all interested in holiday parks that could offer our My Safe Place Southern accommodation.
