🌿 Life lately...
🌸 Its been a while since I've said Hi. Thanks to everyone that's continued to support me.
🌿 Last October I had an acute Hemiplegic migraine which stopped me in my tracks completely.
🌷 An acute hemiplegic migraine is a neurological condition where the brain temporarily misfires, disrupting normal nerve signals. This can cause stroke like symptoms such as weakness & paralysis on one side, along with speech, vision, and sensory changes. It can happen because of abnormal electrical activity in the brain stem, and changes to blood flow in the brain.
🌿 I spent most of the time from November to January rebuilding my muscle strength and my stamina.
✨️I have am amazing migraine specialist Neurologist who is helping me find the right medication to feel well again.
🌸 Part of my journey has been strength and coordination training. Did you know, I've been a qualified Pilates teacher for 16 years alongside my pottery, and these last 6 months I've worked so hard to get muscle strength and balance back. Using my Pilates training, I've endeavoured to get equal feeling back in my left side which was left very weak and lacking sensation after the Hemiplegic episode.
🌿 Its so interesting how such challenging times always seem to fire my determination to find positivity and focus in my life. These past months I've delved back into my physical training as well as working with meditation and breath work. I've also felt really fortunate to start teaching movement and Pilates again, and its felt so right to work once more in a space of women's health and wellness.
🌸 My pottery studio continues to be a refuge for me. I've spent time creating and playing with new designs and focusing on pure joy - but slowly...
🌱 I am at a wonderful crossroads of revival, refocus; a growing & renewal...
🌷 My absolute focus is on my beautiful family, myself, my husband and children.
🌿 Around that seems to be a desire to move, continue to strengthen my body & teach Pilates to others. Plus the absolute joy of being back in my pottery studio making and continuing to create 🌈
