Thinking about travel again and today, we are in and we are looking at its vernacular architecture. Homesteads in Zimbabwe have remained largely unchanged since the time of Great Zimbabwe. Traditional houses, especially in rural areas, still have roofs with mud walls, similar to structures dating back to the -walled huts of Great Zimbabwe. Even earlier village huts and settlements were usually constructed from and with conical thatched roofs. As a result of European influence, there are now rectangular buildings with concrete walls and corrugated iron roofs.

This time we are in and we are looking at the Evergreen School. Caukin Studio has added four classrooms built from locally sourced materials to the school. The aim was to create a fluid, open and adaptable learning environment for the students. blocks were used to form the ' structure, which was infilled with locally made and hexagonal tiles. Windows were covered with shutters that can be locked when the school is closed.

Today’s country is and we are looking at the Marib Dam. The current was built in the 1980s and is close to the of the ancient dam, first built in the 8th century BC.It was one of the engineering wonders of the ancient world and a central part of the Sabaean and Himyarite Kingdoms around Marib. The new dam, like the old, was designed to store water for irrigating the Ma'rib plains. However, the wadi bed at the new dam site consists of alluvial sand and material.

Today we are in and we are looking at Phat Diem Cathedral in Ninh Binh Province. The of the church – built in and in 1891 – is an eclectic blend of Vietnamese and European architectural styles. It was mainly built in traditional Vietnamese architecture, similar to historical palaces and temples. It was bombed in 1972 and later restored.
