Most people think tree work is simply about cutting branches.
In reality, responsible arboriculture is about risk management, safety, and protecting valuable property.
At Ape Tree Services we approach every project with this in mind. Trees are a major asset to a property, but if they are poorly maintained they can also present serious risks to buildings, people, and infrastructure.

Our work focuses on helping homeowners, estates, and commercial properties manage those risks properly through:
β€’ Professional tree inspections
β€’ Preventative maintenance
β€’ Structural pruning and canopy management
β€’ Storm damage mitigation
β€’ Long-term tree health planning

This approach ensures trees remain an asset to your property rather than a liability.
Whether it’s a private residence, estate grounds, commercial premises, or managed property portfolio, our goal is simple:
To make your property safer, healthier, and better protected for the long term.

We recently removed two very large mature chestnut trees from Manfield All Saints Church.

This was a tricky job which required lots of planning with our team to dismantle these two trees in a safe and controlled manner.

We had an avant loader to assist us in the moving of timber off site. This made light work of moving the multiple tons of timber on these trees.

We spent the first day removing all the chippable branches off of both trees and the second day dealing with the timber.
All the timber was given to a local firewood company free of charge.

As you can see in one of the pictures, the trees were rotten and contained a large cavity through the whole length of the stem.

It was imperative these trees were removed for the safety of the church and the village.

If you have any trees that you need professional advice on please don't hesitate to contact us

New hedgerows going in the ground.

Not only are these a benefit for wildlife as they provide shelter but also a farmland highway for wildlife to traverse the wild habitsts. They produce flowers for pollinators and berries for birds.
The hedgerow also provides valuable shelter for livestock kept on pasture. From wind and rain and a belt of shade on those hot sunny days.

Studdies found that the soil under hedges stored on average 40 tonnes more carbon per hectare than managed grassland in all locations.

Hedge planting has been widely encouraged as a way to meet the UK’s environmental targets. The UK Government has announced its goal of planting 72,500 kilometres of hedges throughout England by 2050, while the UK Climate Change Committee has proposed increasing the hedge network by 40% by 2050 to help mitigate climate change.

Through the BN11 grant scheme through the sustainable farming initiatives.
We can facilitate the planting and organising of materials to site.

Please get in contact with us for more information regarding hedge planting.

We recently removed two large ivy covered ash trees that had been marked for removal on a recent tree survey for one of the schools in Richmond.

We were blessed with beautiful skies and crisp cold days.

The team and I climbed and dismantled the trees after a thorough risk assessment. We could luckily get the chipper and truck down a tight lane at the rear of the school for easy acess for working under the trees.

All the branches were chipped and the woodchip will be used on the school ground for pathways around their woodland that we have also undertaken safety work on last year.

It was a great job undertaken with great safety.

If you have any trees that might require our attention please don't hesitate to get in contact with us.
