Its not often an older style Grundfos pump fails. However this one turned into a steam engine.
Windings had seized, causing the boiler to over heat.
Pump replaced, and a happy customer.

Unfortunately, I come across poorly installed, and infrequently serviced boilers rather regularly.
Today was a Glowworm with many issues, including the blocked condensate hose. Debris in the burner/heat exchanger . And the worst issue was the single brick wall that had been filled with Expanding foam, and was now falling apart. Its most definitely not a suitable substitute for sand and cement.

Unfortunately, an existing plastic heating system pipe had an elbow connection blow-off. Causing rather a lot of water to pour through the ceiling.
Not an easy task to find and then fix, as the bathroom floor tiles had to be removed, and then the floorboards to gain access.

Boilers still require TLC after a service. The main burner gasket was found to have perished last week, so a return visit to replace was arranged for today.

Had a call out to a smell of fumes from a gas fire. The customer hadn't used it for a few weeks and decided to make it look pretty.
Fortunately, they stopped using it until I could attend.
The catchment space was full of twiggs from a bird which had tried to build a nest. Causing the flue to fail, and products of combustion to spill in their lounge.

Another fine example of a white box on a wall. This lovely boiler is a Main eco compact 30 combi. 5 years warranty, and very competitively priced. The installation was a direct swap from an older Baxi, with the pipework unaltered. Consisting of a twin channel timer, with 2 zone valves to allow independent heating of ground and 1st floor.

A lovely example of a white box on a wall. Actually an install I did this week, removing a 20 year old Baxi platinum combi, and replacing with a Baxi 600-2 combi. Which I re-sited in the loft to allow for the old cylinder cupboard to be dismantled.

A full strip down service on a Glowworm FLEXICOM 15hx heat only boiler, identified a gas leak on the gas valve. Which resulted in a replacement gas valve. Not a common fault, however one that needed an urgent fix.

A superb cast iron radiator installed this morning. I'm not saying how much it cost, but it was big $$$ and very heavy.
I don't post much installation work, purely because it's simply white boxes on a wall. However this looks very pretty.
