Launched this weekend alongside RHS - Royal Horticultural Society Green Careers, this brand new programme offers the chance to learn from some of the UK's most experienced growers across our production nurseries.

This fantastic opportunity will give hands-on experience in:

🚜Nursery operations and machinery

We're all set up and looking forward to the start of RHS Garden Wisley Green Careers Open Event this weekend. 🌱

The event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering a career in horticulture to explore the wide range of roles available cross the industry, meet employers, and learn more about the different pathways into the profession.

Despite the rain, it was a great day welcoming members of the Arboricultural Association South East Branch to our Andlers Ash field-grown tree nursery.

The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at how our trees are grown, lifted, potted and prepared before reaching their final planting locations. Guests heard from Will, Jim, and Phil, who shared insights into our production processes, tree lifting operations, container grown tree production, and future plans for the nursery.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and braved the weather. It was a pleasure to share our nursery, answer questions, and discuss the future of tree production with so many knowledgeable professionals. 🌳

This year, we’re proud to be involved behind the scenes at the , supplying trees to a number of gardens, including A Garden for Every Parkinson’s Journey, designed by . This considered design explores the experience of living with Parkinson’s through a series of carefully structured spaces.

In the lead up to the build, we welcomed Arit and the team at to our nursery, where we mapped out the garden’s dimensions on site. This gave the team the opportunity to walk the layout and visualise how the planting a structure would come together.

We visited the show build yesterday to check on our tree deliveries, and it’s exciting to see the gardens progressing well. We look forward to returning over the coming weeks to see how they progress!

Hillier Nurseries would like to pay tribute to Professor Nigel Dunnett, who sadly passed away on Sunday 26th April.

Nigel was one of the UK’s most influential landscape architects and urban planting designers, responsible for many pioneering and widely admired projects. He inspired and shaped a generation of landscape architects and designers through his knowledge, creativity and passion for planting.

We had the privilege of working alongside Nigel on a number of projects, including the planting design for the London 2012 Olympic Park and RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens. His approach to planting and his contribution to the industry have left a lasting impact.

He will be remembered with great respect and admiration.

The RHS is deeply saddened by the loss of Nigel Dunnett, RHS Ambassador and legendary plantsman whose influence on horticulture will be felt for generations to come
