Latest project completed today.

LVT isn’t just about wood effect planks.

This tiled floor was failing due to poor installation. Grout was popping, tiles were cracked and moving when walking on them.

Porcelain tiles were removed and bagged. Substrate was prepped with 9mm ply, screwed at 100mm centres and then the edges feather screeded.

‘Cool Concrete’ LVT tiles were fitted from the Expona Stone range, with pressure sensitive adhesive, to compliment the kitchen worktops.

Another project recently completed.

The customer had the room decorated and then I was tasked with fitting the floor.

Flooring used for this project was the QuickStep Capture range of laminate. Quickstep underlay was first installed and then the flooring fitted on top with an expansion joint to allow for movement on a floating floor. A Scotia beading is then fitted sound the perimeter of the room to give the job a perfect finish.

Last job but one before Christmas.

Firstly, thanks to Leeds waste movers for the removal and disposal of the outdated sliding robes.

Then it was on to battening out the back wall to make it plumb and bring the new wardrobes forward by 40mm.

New wardrobes were constructed and fixed and then framed with new 4 panel shaker doors hung. Antique brass handles with knurled finish to complete the project.

Wardrobes were supplied by DFK, to customers specifications.

It’s all about the prep!!!!

A recently completed project for a lovely customer. I’ve done quite a few tiling jobs for this customer, but they wanted something with a bit more ‘warmth’ for the lounge.

First, the existing screed was swept and hoovered in preparation for priming. Priming seals the substrate to stop the moisture being sucked out of the levelling compound and cure in the proper manner. It also helps the levelling compound flow better. It’s imperative that you have a perfectly flat and smooth surface as any imperfections may be seen once the floor covering is fitted.

The setting out of the planks on this job was to centralise so that the cuts were symmetrically balanced.

The planks used on this project were Urban 55 Regal Oak Herringbone.

I haven’t had a Wagon Wheel for years so the customer surprised me with one and a hot cuppa!!!

Another completed project recently finished. Just had the photos back from customer now the decorating has been completed.

What started out as a media wall turned into a full room refurbishment. Initially I was tasked to build a media wall with TV and fire, along with a unit to house the amp and media equipment.

It turned into a full room refurb right down to me fitting new skirting boards, door casings and doors. All completed in solid oak.

Overall this has transformed the space and the new sound system is unbelievable.

Another flooring project completed for a customer.

The bathroom floor was already tiled so the customer managed to find the same tiles for the hallway for a seamless connection.

Tiles were fixed and grouted, then a bead of silicone around the perimeter to compliment the grout.

The kitchen plinths were removed and the tiles fixed. Tiles were then grouted and again, silicone around the perimeter. Plinths were cut to size and refit.

Door threshold bars were then fixed to finish the job.

Out with the old, in with the new. Lino removed from this conservatory ready for the new flooring.

Floorboards were overboarded with 9mm plywood and edges feather screeded and sanded. Setting out then for LVT in herringbone design.

Squisito LVT, Sicilian Honey was chosen by the customer. This was fixed with a high temperature glue with it being in direct sunlight.

Next was the step down from the lounge, where a satin bronze stair nosing was selected to compliment the floor. The herringbone pattern was continued up the riser and onto the tread with an inlay of the LVT cut to size. The step was time consuming, ‘wrapping’ the pattern around, but the final finish was well worth it!!!

Small project to finish a recently fitted kitchen at a customers. The customer self levelled the floor in preparation for the covering and I just feathered the edges for a smooth flat finish. I then installed the laminate floor cutting all panels to slide the floor under to give a sharp, clean finish.

Another recently completed project. A new garden room for customer to home school the children in. At least the parents get their dining room back now!!!

I overboarded the subfloor with plywood and then used a feather edge screed over the joints, then sanded to remove any imperfections.

I set out the selected flooring in the herringbone pattern. Then it’s time to glue the LVT all into place. The garden room is south facing so will get the hot sun, so it’s imperative that the correct adhesive is used. In this case, it’s a high temperature one.

I then fixed new skirting boards around perimeter to give nice clean lines to the finish.

Overall, a lovely project to work on and a great environment for the children to learn in.
