Great Sankey - Phase II
It’s always great to receive a call from an old client wanting our input into their outdoor spaces once again.
8yrs after their front garden was transformed into a wonderful space, it was time for the very overgrown trees in the rear to be removed and enable us all to see what space truly existing as their back garden. It didn’t take long…….
Well maintained, gold conifers had been taking all the light for so long. Their impact was obvious. By the end of the morning sesh, we had opened up this lovely space to allow natural light to fully engulf it casting sunshine where once there was only shadows.
A larger patio, artificial grass lawn, raised borders, a greenhouse, a water feature and new horizontal fencing all made the design and off we dug… well, the digger did the hard graft! 👊
‘Nerja’ porcelain laid for the patio area framed by a darker grey ‘Rhonda’ porcelain plank. On this occasion, a stack bond lay pattern was agreed.
The step and riser clad in ‘Rhonda’ planks with a combination of both porcelains for the green house and side pathways.
Timber sleepers form a raised bed around the perimeter of the garden which will show the new planting off wonderfully. Further amplified by the beaufully planed horizontal timber fencing.
Lights on the fence and within the curtain fall water feature will illuminate the space during dusk and evening hours drawing the eyes from inside to out.
I love lighting in a garden or space, it changes it so much as the light fades.
You’re drawn to it….. To catch a glimpse of the beautiful red canopy of the Acer Crimson King at night from within the house, further solidifies the link of the garden space to those inside the house.
We’re nearly finished so will update the images upon completion.
Hope you like it!
