Little Thalia is desperately waiting for a new heart. Read her story.

In November, Thalia was taken to hospital with chest trouble – she has previously suffered with bronchiolitis and pneumonia as a baby.

She was just about to be discharged when doctors noticed that her heart was enlarged on a chest x-ray. She was quickly transferred to Leeds General Infirmary for further investigation.

Thalia was soon diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy; a condition for which there is currently no medicine and no operation. Thalia’s family were told that a heart transplant is her only hope.

Speaking about her granddaughter, Christine said: “Thalia is our absolute world and is one in a million to everybody that knows and loves her. She is so gorgeous inside and out with the most beautiful little heart and soul - she is utterly adored.”

Thalia has now been referred to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle for transplant assessment.

“We know we have hurdles to overcome before she can be listed for transplant but what else do we have if we don't have hope. A lovely lady who has been through this journey said to me that faith, hope and positivity are a wonderful medicine and that has truly stuck with me!”

“As Thalia begins her journey for a new beautiful little heart, all we can focus on is raising organ donation awareness.”

Due to an increased work volume, Deerstone Windows require an experienced Window Fitter. We have been established over 8 years and have grown steadily over this time and now have the repeat business and strong brand to employ a fitter. You must be able to drive and ideally have your own van and tools, however, this is flexible.
