This year we have noticed a trend in our clients wanting to form an annex, so we thought we would share some case studies of a few different types, that G3 Architecture has secured planning approvals for:
Case Study 1:
This client had a generous side plot, which is on a split level site.
The client approached G3 Architecture as they have two adult sons who still live at home, as they are saving to get on the property ladder.
G3 Architecture were asked to design a self-contained annex, which would allow their children their own independent space.
This project formed a two-bedroom self-contained annex, with access via the main dwelling.
Case Study 2:
This client had an existing double garage to the side of their property and wanted to form an annex for visiting family members.
The annex will remain dependent upon the main house, but contains one bedroom on the first floor and an open plan ground floor arrangement, with direct access to the rear garden.
Case Study 3:
This client had a garage attached to the side of their house, we demolished the garage and rebuilt it (longer). This annex is for our client elderly mother, who had sold her house and wanted to live nearby.
This annex contains one bedroom, shower room and an open plan arrangement.
Case Study 4:
This client had an existing double garage to the rear, where we will be extending it and converting it (we also extended the main dwelling too as part of the same planning application).
This annex is being built for our client’s parents and offers a single bedroom, bathroom and open plan space, with direct access to the beautiful rear garden.
