Well another challenging year has nearly come to an end, we have been working hard on multiple projects big and small and this year has seen many challenges for all of us.
We at Thomas riddell builders would like to thank our customers, suppliers, enquirer's and fellow contractors for your help, support, custom and understanding throughout this year but we would also like to thank our staff, without good, reliable staff the fight is harder, so a huge thankyou to our staff for your hard work and effort throughout this year!
We hope everyone has a brilliant Christmas and joyous new year and look forward to serving our customers both returning and new in 2022, hopefully with more stability in the region and less challenges to face for everyone.

Now that lockdown is easing, we are all starting to get back to the new normal and we at Riddell Builders are starting to work through our backlog of work and pricing the incoming work a labouring position within our team has become available, we are looking for an energetic person to assist with general labouring duties withing our well established family run business, working as part of a team is essential, experience a benefit but not essential as training will be given, rate of pay dependant on age and experience, references if possible and would be of advantage if available, any interested parties plese contact us through our fb mesenger or comment personally on post as first port of call.
Thankyou in advance and look forward to hearing from you.

Having spent the past couple of days taking legal, governement, council and suppliers advice, information and opinions we at Thomas Riddell Builders have regretably decided that due to the covid 19 situation we are going to shut our doors during this lockdown to all jobs based mainly on the protection and safety of our staff, clients and suppliers. This is a decision we have taken a lot of advice and thought on and as im sure is the case with all other companies big and small it is not ideal by any manner of means however this is the safest things for us all.
As soon as we get confirmation that we are allowed to start back as usual we assure you all that we will do our best to come back a fighting force as before this all started.
The only exception to jobs will be absolutely essential repairs deemed necissary for either health or safety and these will all be assesed with individual merit and carried out by the partners of the business to ensure continued protection of our staff and clients.
We will still however be contactable for any enquiries and quotations via phone, email or on here and will do our best to help you with such.
If this situation changes we will update on here.
Stay safe everyone and hopefully as a community we can all help each other recover from this and businesses can begin to thrive out the other side.

Afternoon all customers, please feel free to share this post. Due to last night's announcement by Boris Johnson and the government guidelines we at Thomas Riddell Builders have decided not to attend sites today other than a brief visit to make a few things safe and carry out a necessary repair. However we are spending the day trying to get clarification on the exact ruling regarding works in progress, we are seeking advice from the local council, suppliers and views and opinions from clients with jobs started as to whether we are allowed to attend small sites with minimal manpower and increased precautions within the government guidelines.
This is not a decision we are taking lightly so please bear with us and we will act responsibly on any advice we are given.
For the time being we will carry out ONLY essential repairs with NO client contact and will NOT be attending premises to quote or estimate jobs however we are more than happy to discuss future works over either phone or email.
Please keep an eye on our page for more updates and we will be at the end of the phone or email to handle any queries.
Thanks, ruairaidh Riddell (partner)

Well with just a couple more sleeps till the big man comes down your chimneys, we at Thomas riddell builders would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
This year has seen us adapt to new challenges, take on more staff, a much needed vehicle upgrade as well as making a few new business contacts, clients and suppliers and hopefully we can keep improvements, adaptions and modernisations coming in the new year, keeping all your jobs at competitive prices and running fast and efficiently with minimal waiting.
We are now finished for 2019 and will be starting back with full force on the 6th of January, a much needed break for all our hard working staff.
On behalf of all management and staff we would like to thank all our suppliers, customers and friends and wish you all very very merry Christmas and a happy new year and hope to see you all for a good 2020.

Well it's been a while since we posted, it's been an extremely busy spell of a multitude of contracts, some carving and stonework, some patio and landscaping after doing the extension and some stone chimney and gable demolition and rebuild to match existing, but we've stuck our heads down and plowed on, here's just a few of the pictures we've taken over the past wee while........
Hope you all enjoy.

Due to this lovely weather we've been having lately we've had a few enquiries as to if we do landscaping and the answer is yes, we do all kinds of hard landscaping projects big and small and if there's something we don't do we can put you in touch with reputable companies that can. We are marshalls registered so you can be confident in quality of work, cost and materials and feel free to ask now for a marshalls catalogue. However we would also like to remind you all to use reputable companies with experience and a reputation for fairness especially in price and quality for all your work inside or out due to one unfortunate person who got in contact after being given an astronomical costing for work that she'd had done. We are marshalls registered and product catalogues for 2019 now available.
