The suitable candidate will be an experienced individual who will be required to provide an efficient and professional service either during install or when undertaking service works (including fault finding and repair) for a wide variety of systems in a variety of commercial, public sector and residential properties.

The suitable candidate should/will have:

• Minimum 3 years electrical/electronic engineering experience (working knowledge of electronic security and fire detection systems would be beneficial - further training however, will be provided for the right candidate)
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to work out of normal hours if necessary
• Full driving licence
• Able to think on their feet and to remain calm under pressure
• Personable and able to work as part of a team or unsupervised where necessary
• Keen to maintain extremely high standards of workmanship and a display a professional image at all
times
• A desire to develop and learn new skills
• Customer service focussed

Border Safeguard Ltd is a long established Company based in Selkirk in the Borders, who install and maintain electronic security and fire detection systems.

The suitable candidate will be an experienced Office Administrator who will be required to:

• Organise and maintain customer records
• Update internal customer databases
• Prepare customer records for new installations
• Action customer queries about system issues via telephone or email
• Participate in planning projects (e.g., help organize install and/or maintenance schedules)
• Assist from time to time with other general office duties as required within a busy office environment

This role is office based and may be temp to permanent for the right person.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook is essential. Training will be available on the other packages used within the business. The successful candidate must be a good communicator and can demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.

It is expected that the role will be 21 hours per week. There may be flexibility in which days are worked, however they need to suit deadlines and staff absences, as is normal in any administrative environment.
