Tom Hoar is a figurative painter working mainly in oil and watercolour. The work will be shown in Spring 2012. Watch this space!

Tom has exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition (Mall Galleries), Under a Grand (GrandyArt), Afforadable Art Fair (GrandyArt) and has exhibited in the annual exhibition of the Royal Society of British Artists (Mall Galleries). Tom is now the official artist in residence with the Household Cavalry and has been working with them for the Royal Wedding, Trooping the Colour and all their official duties in 2011.

A wonderful place which I return to now & then. Tregardock beach in North Cornwall. No easily accessible (a scramble down rocks & uphill walk back to the car) mean it’s never very busy. A popular surfing spot & the tide comes in very fast!

This painting is now available with alongside a small collection of other new work, to celebrate working together for 20 years. 🥂

Looking ahead to my solo show with in October, I’ll have a collection from my travels, and here is a biggish oil of a view from Ronda, Andalucía. I was out there last year in late Autumn. It was still lovely & warm and the colours were softened by the heat. I love that time of year - just before the seasons turn again.

I know the world feels pretty mad right now. I hope some art might help take the mind away from the destruction.

I’ve been pretty busy so far this year, prepping for 20th anniversary exhibitions - a collection of 10 paintings (Italy, Spain, Scotland, Cornwall & ) which will be released at the end of the month, and also on show at the in Battersea. I’ve been quiet on here recently but busy in the studio! I’m working on a new collection of circus paintings, which will be released at the end of February with as part of her 20 year anniversary exhibitions.

A small selection of oils from my recent Spanish trip around Andalucía. I’m mainly working towards my next solo show at the moment, but will have a small watercolour collection (unframed) at the end of November to buy on my website. I’m not going to post too much of the new work, as I’d like to keep it a surprise (!) but I’m loving it out here and look forward to the next couple of weeks of painting in this amazing landscape.

Instagram wants me to add music & create endless reels, but this is just a plain old photo/post. I’ve had so many happy family holidays in this place. My parents had their wedding reception in the hotel next to this beach. My wife used to come here as a child and we’ve taken our children here. It’s definitely a special beach & view!
