This week we say farewell to our Part 1 architectural assistant Sam (right) as he heads back to uni to embark on his Masters in Architecture.

Sam has worked on a variety of projects over the past year, bringing both landscape and architecture skills to the practice from his dual undergraduate degree. In addition to project tasks Sam has been responsible for updating our website and keeping our Instagram account up to date!

We're very proud that our architectural assistant Sam won a silver gilt medal show at yesterday for his long border design .kitchen.classroom

Sam studied a dual degree in architecture and landscapeĀ and collaborated with one of his former coursemates on the design. Their long border explores the connection between education and the food growing process, encouraging hands-on learning for school children, whilst also challenging the aesthetics of what an edible bed should look like. Working with the plants will be relocated to a Sheffield primary school after the show.

Today we are celebrating a momentous 10 YEARS of practice as Chiles Evans and Care Architects!

It has been a pleasure working with such fantastic clients on a wide range of renovations, restorations, new builds and conservation projects in and around South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the Peak District. Looking back at a decade of dedication to craft and detail has been a real joy.

We'd like to thank all of our project collaborators who have helped us deliver many high quality builds. We have many more exciting projects on site and on the drawing boards, so look forward to further work with these skilled local craftspeople, contractors and consultants.

Our hardworking, close-knit team continues to make all of this possible, sharing a core set of values whilst representing a diverse range of experience and interests.

A kitchen finishes visual for our Glade House project in Wakefield.

We explored multiple options with the client to choose a material palette which complimented the woodland surroundings and other textures throughout the house, whilst creating a unique space for the family to gather.

1:100 Site model exploring proposed massing options for a refurbishment and extension of a detached victorian home in Sheffield. Grey board, coloured card, and seafoam trees.

The neglected existing building has undergone a series of poor quality extensions which have contributed to a loss of character and connectivity. The proposals explore ways to adapt and extend the house to create a series of connected living spaces that are open to the landscape whilst paying tribute to the catslide and gabled roof forms of the existing building.
