Job vacancy: *BOOK-KEEPING / PAYROLL / OFFICE MANAGER.*
Your main duties will be book-keeping, and payroll. Hours negotiable and flexible, most likely part-time, but could be full-time, depending on the scope of what you take on. The base workload would likely be approx 10 β 20 hours per week, but depending on your skills / needs / experience, there are other roles and duties in the firm that we could potentially train you for as well, to boost-up your hours if required. The payroll is run weekly, which means regularity on that, and logging the likes of customer payments, is necessary, albeit other staff can cover the payroll occasionally. VAT returns are quarterly. We use SAGE software, as well as other systems.
The most important qualification is the kind of person you are, but itβs also vitally important that you have a positive, honest and productive work ethic. You should be able to touch-type, understand how to use computers & spreadsheets, have a methodical approach to your work, and an eye for detail. Previous relevant experience (e.g. with accounting software) preferred, but training will be provided.
You will be working from our operations base at 5a Gremista Industrial Estate, Lerwick. You will report to our Director, and communicate with our accountants to ensure the likes of periodic tax and Company submissions are completed accurately and on-time.
