On a recent trip to Italy Jess captured this image of this amazingly well preserved hypocaust at the port of Ostia Antica, a Roman Underfloor Heating System .

These systems, consisting of a furnace that heated air which circulated beneath raised floors, were used in both public baths and private houses.

Whilst we can't guarantee modern heating systems will last this long (these were created around the 3rd and 4th centuries AD) keeping you heating system regularly serviced will definitely help keep it going for as long as possible and as an accredited Worcester installer if you chose us for your new boiler you could get up to 12 years warranty .

An old gasket and electrode set (left) and new (right) from a service completed by Rob M today . The cracks in the old gasket could have lead to an expensive breakdown but luckily this home owner remembered their annual service so this could be caught before it became a problem.
