1st exterior of the year done and dusted 😎 weather stayed on our side throughout and enabled the job to flow nicely. Dad was onboard with this one and removed cast iron gutters and replaced with plastic all around, facias capped with plastic, tentis board soffits ripped down and replaced with plastic, and new downpipes and outlets added to allow a proper fall on the longer runs. He also meshed and re rendered the crumbling walls up the sides of the steps and pointed in the copings prior to painting. The garage doors which were varnished and heavily weathered and blistered were sanded back to bare wood and given 2 coats of sikkens hls light oak, followed by a top coat of filter 7 to give maximum uv protection. All masonry pressure washed, followed by 2 coats of magnolia, including garden walls, and black zinsser all coat satin to soil and waste pipes. And we are DONE 🎉👍😎 5 months on and this beautiful house has been totally transformed from top to bottom ! Rolls and rolls worth of wallpaper stripped from all ceilings and walls.. over 60kg of filler applied to give a super smooth finish, 2 bags of bonding, 90 litres of paint pushed through the airless spray unit, a dozen tubes of HB42 caulk, countless sanding discs, and 20 litres of undercoat and satin applied to all woodwork to give a smooth, durable, mid sheen finish 👌 floorboards power sanded, conditioned and 2 coats of mid oak woodstain applied and topped off with a durable, hard wearing bona laquer. By far the biggest job to date for me, but one that was met head on and all boundaries pushed to achieve a great result. Now its on to the first exterior of the year, hoping the weather holds out ! Baking spatulas dont just help bake lovely cakes. They also double up as a great filling tool for mouldings and cornices ! Just make sure to clean them off before sticking them back in the mixing bowl 😅

Major renovation project is now in full swing, 6 bedroomed house back to its bare bones for a full redec. Plenty of wallpaper stripped so far and plenty of filling. 30 litres of paint already through the qtech in the upstairs bedrooms and landings , floors being sanded back for a stain varnish.
