They say gardening is a relaxing hobby, but for me, it’s a lesson in humility. Despite my best intentions, green fingers aren't always universal. There are some plants that simply refuse to survive under my care, no matter how many pep talks and TLC I give them.
Here are the top 5 "un-growables" currently on my blacklist:
1. Ranunculus: They look like delicate paper masterpieces, but in my garden, they’re just... none existent. I dream of those lush layers, but I usually get a zero germination rate.
2. Himalayan Poppy: That striking blue is legendary. Unfortunately, so is their ability to vanish the moment they sense I’m the one holding the watering can. Poppy 1, me 0!
3. Chamomile: It’s supposed to be "calming," but trying to get these tiny daisies to carpet my pots has been anything but.
4. Freesias: I crave that iconic scent, but apparently, my garden’s vibe is "scent-free zone" as far as these bulbs are concerned. I planted 35 in gritty well drained compost and I got the grand total of 1 germination 😭
5. Parsley: They say it's easy. They lied. I can grow complex perennials, but this basic garnish has a personal vendetta against me.
