Did you know that over 50% of house fires in the UK last year started with household appliances?

Some will have been faulty and some misused

There are some simple things you can do to make sure your appliances are safe, these are our top tips

1️⃣ Make sure all your appliances are in a safe place - away from damp, wet environments such as bathrooms and around sinks

2️⃣ Any appliances that generate heat (e.g. refrigerators, freezers, TV’s, computers, etc.) should be given extra place for good ventilation

3️⃣ Please don't hang clothing on heat producing appliance

4️⃣ Make sure all appliances are in properly installed sockets

No one wants to be spending hundreds of pounds of few years on a new tumble dryer

To keep your tumble dryer working efficiently (and safely) there are a few things you can do

1️⃣ Clean the lint filter after every use. This is the easiest way to prevent fires and speed up drying times

2️⃣ Check and clean the vent regularly to avoid blockages

3️⃣ Give the drum a quick wipe now and then to keep things fresh
